I have looked over your Magma Spires entry, Coren, and made some comments and suggestions.  Did you need more input on that?  I can try to help more with it if you do.  I didn't want to seem to be taking over.  I know you are probably quite busy with other things, so I just thought I'd mention it quickly here.

Just to let you know I haven't forgotten, but I will be away from my home computer for a couple of days. By Tuesday my kids will be in school, however, which will open up some time during the day.  Hopefully Monday I can get the instant messenger thing working, and then we can work out a chat time.

Bye for now,

Apologies for not getting back to you sooner, Coren, I have not been feeling very well for a few days so haven't been on line.

Re: the Orcal time line--yes, we can work on that. I need to look at what's already there.  Are you looking at just a basic history of the Orcal kingdom from its beginnings to the present? Or would this include any tribal histories before that time?
And how detailed would this be?  Presumably, since these orcs are slightly more "civilized" (than Sarvonian orcs) with even a simplistic written language, they would have a more detailed, date-accurate history, though obviously using a different dating scheme (perhaps pre-and post-Orcal?) which can then be translated into Sarvonian dates by the intrepid researchers :lol

Perhaps we can just start with Orcal and throw in a legend or two from the pre-Orcal times.  Marvin might be able to help with that, he's working on the Sarvonian orc religious beliefs.

Anyway, sorry for rambling, I'll see what we have already and then we can start elaborating on that.

I guess we should start with Orcal first and then work our way backwards once I get the Krath timeline to that stage. And do not worry about the reporting of their history - Krath likes to keep a close eye on its neighbours. So even before the Kingdom was formed Krath would have lots of details on each of the tribes (since they constantly fought and traded)

And I'm really sorry to hear that ::hug s :: get well soon dear Alysse!

Hey Coren. I'd really appricate it if you could take a look at my entry on Trumgrupyim, the Rock Eater. I realize you are busy with that massive Karath entry of yours, but if you could manage to find a little time. Personaly I think it is pretty good;)    But only Gean Firefeet has commented on it. Anyways if you could take a look, that would be great. Thank you very much.

Done! :D

I've rechecked the Pillar Tree entry, and believe i've now covered everything you've thrown at me. I would be much obliged if you'd be so kind as to give it another run-over...

(If I keep having to rely on you this much, i will have to kill one of your apprentices and take their place. :smile  )

Quote for the day:
"My posts can be somewhat lengthy and occasionally a bit wise but it is beyond my ability to Corenize." ~Bows gracefully and departs~

I am not around until noon Wednesday - but I'll try to find a connection point somewhere!

~Patiently stands upon a distant hilltop, tolling the bells of Nybelmar. Ancient greys eyes scanning the horizon for any signs of Coren~

Addition: I will be on at that time without question M'Lord Coren. Though that is a bit late in the evening for me I will make sure, when I catch you, I have quite sometime on my hands. ~bows gracefully and departs~

Was wondering if you'd leave comments here. santharia.com/startup_new/mainframe.htm Should take you to my Dentork Rhino entry. If not, it's in the bestiary. Thanks.

Coren: I am very busy with RL at the moment. I will try to look at the entry when time permits - however I do have a few other priority items on my to-do-list so it may take quite a while. Sorry!

Coren!  Thou hast returned!  Whither, then, my promised email?  Whither thy comments on my humble depiction?  Hast thou misplaced my edress, or have I in sooth somehow offended thee?

Prithee, answer, or I shall pine, droop and dwindle...

A melancholic bard awaiteth,
Judith   :|

COREN: Judith! Someone must be putting a lot of effort into thwarting our correspondence! I sent you the email on Saturday after being delayed a week without internet access. Then on Tuesday morning sent an 'inquiry'-mail asking whether you have received it. And just to be on the safe side, I re-mailed the whole thing Tuesday afternoon.

Check your masterbard@poetic.com address - if it's STILL not there maybe I should seriously consider hiring a wynd-racer! or retreating to a corner and sobbing... Pray tell, was the address wrong?

Ahah!  The inquiry mail and the second sending are there, though not the first one - (masterbard is not my primary email account atm, but I should have thought to check it ere now....) so I have your very thorough comments!  Thank you - will respond via email so we can keep this hush-hush until it's more accurate and can 'burst upon the Santharian horizon'.... :)

Coren, i'm starting to need the river leading into the Drifting Woods to be named.. i can do it myself, but i will need to know by what rules i have to work, as the nybelmarian geographic names are all done within a certain system.

Title: Re: Coren!
Post by: Coren FrozenZephyr on 19 September 2006, 03:50:42
Mira, don't mind the naming conventions. The current Nybelmarian maps are supposed to be drawn by Aca-Santerrans therefore all the words (especially common titles like Plain/Palantith) are in High Santerran. Names for anything in the west/foreign are supposedly Santerran 'traspositions/interpretations' of the original names. So do worry about the fancy endings. Since the region is virtually under your control, go for it: invent a suitable name and we'll add to the map

Coren, you've been making a little mistake when writing the Vanilla Orchid entry. It frequently mentions Larkentir trees, but these only grow in the Shivering Woods in Santharia. I suspect you have been confusing the Shivering with the Howling woods. Once you've returned and read this, do you think you could change the Vanilla Orchid entry to exclude the Larkentirs?

Coren's ghost: In the process of answering, see Larkentir thread.

Farmer Turlap!

I mean...Coren...Coren...

I would very much appreciate a check of my Marmarra City Entry- Your help on the contextual...ummm...content would be helpful. I would apologise for its length, but the Coren measurement isnt named after you for no reason.

And guess what!

I still havent paid attention long enough to imbed links in words!

Heya Coren...

You mentioned perhaps working with Nybalmar deity stuff in the Avarian Re-org Project thread. What did you have in mind? The Avarians are on hold right now.

Coren: Hi Azhira! I did not have anything specific in mind - it was just a general comment on your industriousness ;P Will let you know if anything comes up!

UPDATE: Actually... I think an idea just popped into mind... Would you be interested in... collating an overview of the major religions in Nybelmar? You could work your way through the various entries on the site. I also started a Krean religion thread but never had the time to finish it. Let me know what you think!

An overview of the religions would be a nice project. I can do that. I'll have a thread up to gather information asap!

Do you need someone to finish the Krean religion thread? Or uri and/or blarrow it?

I have reviewed the Basic Krean Magic entry, per your request. It took me about 2.5 hours to read, edit, and comment, and therefore, when I have a chance to get to the more technical version, I may skip over those pieces of the entry that I have already commented on.

Another option for you would be to respond and revise what I've commented on, and make changes to both pieces, and then have me look over the entire technical explanation afterward. Just let me know.

Hi Coren. any chance of a quick look over the Seven Bright days festival (http://www.santharia.com/dev/index.php/topic,14873.msg189866/topicseen.html#new) if you've got a moment? It could do with an experienced Nybelmarian eye to check I've not majorly missed out or mixed anything up. :)
