Title: A Question on Prayers
Post by: Tael Aen on 06 February 2004, 05:15:00

I'm currently sorting through, Kashmina & Har' Wyn (Also the people of Aeruillin, to get a feel as to how they worship their  Deities)  and as I see, these two don't have any prayers at the moment.

Artemis suggested, in my request for joining thread that I may want to take prayers and myths on. Brilliant! So I am settling down to take a prayer or two.

I'm also doing a little bit of reading up on traditional/pagan/Celtic prayer forms and styles-The structure they are written in and so on

But before I go all gung-ho and post my first horrible attempt at writing here; I am wondering: Since these are Gods/Goddess, if I should consider using Elizabethan -like- English for them..?

Is there a set rule as to how one should present a prayer for these Gods?

Any help/suggestion is verily appreciated by me!

Thank you!

As long as I can still understand them! ;)

There is no limitation to what you are allowed to do - we tell you if we don't like it :) ,maybe too modern forms are not to fitting? But hey, I know nothing about the subject.

Why don't you go to the library and look for prayers and religious songs? So you can see, what is already done...

Firstly, I must say I am absolutely honoured to have you writing prayers for my Gods and Goddesses. Honestly. I have no poetic talent whatsoever!

Righteo. Well, the only one of my deities have a prayer for them so far, and that is Nakashi. You may like to take a look at that. However, the gods of the Avá centred religion (what the actual name of the religion is, I don't actually know! Shame on me!) have prayers for them, you could take a look. They are the first set of Gods you come to when you click on the religion symbol (the yellow circular thing!) in the main menu.

Lucirina is our main Library writer here, looking at some of her stuff may give you some ideas. She has done many religious prayers. The link to her team page is here -

www.santharia.com/team/lucirina.htm

If you scroll down to the bottom then you will see a list of all the entries she has done.

With regards to how the tribes are in their religious ways, well, unfortunately few are currently developed, as Aeruillin has only been recently open to developing. However, the Hjoria and the Aeolrhan are Aeruillian tribes who are of the Aeoliran faith.

I hope some of this helps!!!

You're supposed to put something really clever and witty in the signature. Well, I am neither clever, nor witty, so this is a waste of space for me really.

Thank you Atremis, I've been going over the pages a lot, and soaking in a s much as possible..Hopefully I'll get things right! :)
