Title: Background music with LT?
Post by: Artimidor Federkiel on 11 May 2003, 06:57:00
Just a general question, Humangus: Is it possible to support MP3 music with LT at some point (providing e.g. that the files are there in a certain folder)? Which means: Does your programming language has the possibilities to play MP3s and e.g. to fade music in and out like you could do e.g. with a VB OCX?

That's not really important right now, but we have excellent musics which would fit into the game, and I plan to ask the artist personally if the usage of his work is fine with him in a non-commerical project (in case you can implement that somehow later).

Music is not supported right now (I never thought an LT game could get so far) but it is very easy to add support for it even in the next release. I don't know if there are such capabilities like fade in or fade out but any type of .ocx library that provides such features can also be used in my program.

Ok, I'll check with the artist if he's ok with using the music in a non-commerical project, if so, we'll see how we can handle it.
