Hello dear Newbie instructor.
I would just like to know if there is any tips for making forests. The only statement in the workshop is: "copy"
I think that sucks because when starting out, you have made NO trees and forests at all.
Is it possible that you could send me some forests??

I assume you're refering to the map making tutorial. Well, how about downloading some maps you can find on the site and copy some forests/trees from there to start from, eh?

Not in Photoshop format, but just check out the places forum, Maps Overview and you'll find a lot of JPG maps there, which will suffice to copy some trees

well.......you need lots of acorns and a few hundred of those sycamore helicopter type things. The you go back to your elven village for a few hundred years and a voila, one forest!

Oh come on Mr. Kit... it's not too hard to make a forest, is it? Just take the airbrush and make a thick patch for the leaves and such, and then a thick black line for the trunk, which you then smudge down a bit and into the surrounding ground(roots, you know), and then smudge a bit someplace else out from the bottom of the tree for the shadow.... for example:
And then you just copy the tree and paste it lots for forests. And change the size of the tree depending on the map size or whatnot.

Well I just copied a bunc of forests and cut them in shape and size so it's ok now but thanks!
