Title: Gremm
Post by: Avis on 14 May 2002, 13:35:00
I've been thinking and I could easily (and would like to) write an entry on the Gremm. These Gnomes would more be the sort envisioned by Xaron, but they need some where to live. As they are very isolationist and in fact refuse to mix with anyone else they really need a forest to live in. If they are approved I could finish them very quickly.

As far as I can see Xaron used the word "Gremm" for a village of gnomes. What exactly would "Gremms" be? A tribe? A race? A small village community?

Yeah I stole the word. They would be a very small tribe of Gnomes, perhaps even just one village.

Is anyone working on any of the now undeveloped elven tribes. If they are not I was thinking that the Gremm could go here and I could werk on the tribe of elves that live in that forest. All that is necessary is that the tribe are relatively peaceful.

Well, we still have 4 tribes of Southern Sarvonia left. So developing one of them would be fine and integrate gnomes somehow... Just pick one. But: If you do an entry, make sure to check all references on the site to the tribe by using the search function on the website menu!

I picked out the Elven Goltherrhim tribe. Planed on putting an gnomish village inside the local forest. The Goltherrhims are close to a potential sulfur source: the volcanoes Heckra, which is nice for the coming gremm.

well, as of 706 b.S. The Goltherron has been pretty empty of Goltherrhim. They left the forest for the Vontron. So... if you want it, they could be realtively quite until then, and take it over.

overlooked that fact. And a disappeared tribe can be interesting though.

*Wakes up*

Er this is true, the Goltherhim die out and the forest is abandoned....

But the forest is a MAJOR strategic point for SW3 and after. I a very keen that elves and perhaps men return their at this point. Sabans Strong hold is Avlang, they would be insane not to return to the forest.

Go back? You know its supposed to be hard to find an elf in he's forest. Who knows, maybe some of them are still hiding there...

Well What I was getting at was more for Avis benefit.

Did the elves know the gnomes were there? My point is that During SW3 that forest becomes possibly the single most important stronghold in Santharia...there is nothing about this on the site, but I'd be very suprised if their wasn't a considerable military prescence in forest, and probably humans too, who certainly would be noticed.

Umm. The Gremm aren't going to fit here so I think I'll move them to the Calmarios forest. 2 things, from what I can see the Cyrathrhim are aggressive elves and that is all that is on the site, is that the only necessary part of the Cyrathrhim? Secondly, there was a German page on the site containing the word Cyrathrhim and I was wondering what it was about as it could affect what they are like. Finally can I check that no-one else is using them and reserve them for me.

You refer to the "Sarvonian Dawn" story which isn't translated yet. Wren was working on a translation of the first part, which also includes the Cyrathrhim.

Information which is contained there is as follows:

The Calmarios forest was from the beginning of time home of the Cyrathrim elves, who withdrew in this forest to lead lifes of their own (with little contact to other races). They shunned to support others in the 2 Great Sarvonian Wars. Their inexperience in things of warfare also led to the fact that they were among the first casualties of SW III.

Ashmarians (barbarian from the Northlands) and orcs destroyed the most of the Calmarios forest as it was nearly unprotected. Only a few managed to escape and brought the news of the orcish invasion to Voldar, where the Tharian king Maecriliom resided. But he sent the messengers away, as he was still convinced that the elves were the main cause for death and destruction during the two Sarvonian Wars and that the humans were the superior race. His arrogance would soon be punished when orcs moved further southward... But even the joining of forces of the human Tharanian army and the elves of the Bolder couldn't stop the invasion...

That's it in general what is mentioned on the Cyrathrhim.

Thanks. I tried to read the story myself as I do German at school but either you use very complicated words or my Germans not as good as it should be.
