Have no fear! For I am alive!! I was at my parents home the past week so I haven't checked it last week, but all I'm waiting for is somebody telling me what they think of 'El Catto Del Droppa'. I AM going to finish this critter. The problem is that I didn't get any replies for a long time (at least ones that I could work with), but I didn't want to keep posting in my own thread asking anyone to check it in its latest form since this would look like I was trying to raise my post count and it could be considered double-posting *GASP*
The is little for me to post because I already worked through everybodies comments, made my changes, coloured my changes (even the ones I forgot at my first edits).
My point of view on this matter is that the tail is way to long and thin to be able to move it like a tentacle or a trunk, by tying it around the object I meant that it uses its hind-legs to tie it around the rock. My furry little friend can only move his/her tail by dragging it around and hauling it in, the tail is not capable of movement by itself. Now that I think of it, I need to write a bit more about its hind legs and especially the paws there since they are used for grabbing stuff, hauling its tail up and for the fastening of the tail around the object of desire. I'll start on it right away.
[Edit]
Okay, I added a bit of information concerning mainly its tail, the added parts are in bright orange.
It reads 'instead of' now, so that is taken care of . Now about the 'tie' issue ( helaas geen veter-constructie ), how to explain...
PAINT-TIME
Ok, this is how it is done. The dropcat wraps its tail around its item, in this case the beautiful .jpg-rock, and then secures the end of its tail under the its tail (this sounds confusing om its own but just look at the beautiful picture above). As soon as it starts lifiting the item the tail is fastened around the rock (I have the feeling that my abilty to express myself in English is somewhat dulled).
Now I found this more clear picture of the Urumi in action. As you can see the left sword is perfectly straight by the force of swinging it and is therefor perfect for striking and slashing the opponent. As for the stabbing I don't think that's really possible since it's too flexible (really?( really u.u)). Talking about flexibility, all good swords are supposed to be able to be bent (about 90 degrees), or else they would break way too fast.
As for defining it as a sword or a whip: I'd say it's a sword, since it has a sharp edge, and whips don't. But this question everybody should answer for themselves since it relies on the parts by which we define something.
Now about the adding part. I think it's a great idea! In my opinion a sword like this could only be evolved into being by a long martial tradition (Kalaripayattu is the oldest known martial art). So I suggest we place it in a culture like this.
PS. Did anyone read Kenshin? there is this one bad guy in there that also uses an Urumi and wears it as a belt. Can't remember his name though >.<
I see the website is saved, WOO!! Now I'm not doing this to gain extra posts, but I somehow feel that my cuddly little critter here has been forgotten So hereby I ask for renewed attention and comments so it may one day be a part of the Santharian Dream!
How about we just accept the poem? I can't imagine that everybody, and certainly not someone called Frigor the Weird. My point of view is that to get Santharia perfect, not everything needs to be perfect. It makes it too artificial and elfish.
Okay, it took some more time than I had hoped, but there were some uneventful things in between then and now which is a story altogether to long and to personal to be told here.
How do I post the new version? Do I just edit my first post or do I just post the new version in this thread?
Hehe, I didn't change the entry yet. You'll all have to wait just a bit. Today I had my exam and my last Intro Celtics lecture. Afterwards a few of us Celts cooked together (macaroni porridge) and I got home just some time ago and I'm kinda exhausted (exhausted like thinking is too tiring, but staying awake is still possible).
the problem in cutting the tail of is that it just keeps growing, but ofcourse, if you feel like cutting off the poor critters tail every now and then...
