Wow something very odd happened to me... i was reading the Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy and i noticed douglas adam's love of using the word seethe... yes thats right... the WORD seethe.... Now perhaps this is a coincidence or perhaps it is just my subconcous but seethe actually means violently excited.... oddly enough fitting beast i am creating.... now.... I don't see much need to change the name now... but there is still many things wrong with it... such as the whole finger thing... i know its exotic and therefore i shall get rid of it. I shall place them in nybelmar (or nyblemar i cant remember).... I will consider eating the rice plant..... or other small creatures.... but...... ill get to revising

No copyright infringement will be held if the word seethe is used for a tribe as judith suggested.... As i own jestra... and right here i give my word....

Santharia has the right to use seethe-like creatures or any seethe related topics if need be.

5  Santharian World Development / The Santharian Bestiary / .... on: 04 January 2003, 05:16:00
yes i make jestra..... and i am paying faugar to draw a picture of it... art said if he drew the picture i should think about incorperating them as a beast in here (or something like that, that was the main idea)... didnt bother to change the name....

Santharian seethes- Dumb, BEASTLIKE..... (possible)asexual reproduction.  and probabaly myth as well...

Jestra- Smart, far more cultured, miosis form reproduction... VERY FACTIONAL....

the place doesnt really matter..nyblemar would be fine. i guess i could take out the finger thing... it is EXTREMELY weird but i just didnt want to picture seethe mating.....

7  Santharian World Development / The Santharian Bestiary / ... on: 02 January 2003, 04:04:00
What about it exactaly is race-ish?

8  Santharian World Development / The Santharian Bestiary / ... on: 02 January 2003, 04:01:00
the finger thing is really odd i know... but then you realize you just contradicted yourself right? We are midevil people so we wouldnt know just how that finger growning thing works... sure i would... but then again i would know what bipedal and quadpedal mean too :-P.... anyways i agree that this is a very race like species.... except that it cant be ever used by a character.... how would one play a santharian seethe.... hmm.... the territory could be expanded upon as well .....

(this is just like what i tried for the moh sys :(

9  Santharian World Development / The Santharian Bestiary / ... on: 01 January 2003, 23:58:00
heres the story...

in my game one of the races is a seethe.... im having faugar draw me my character of seethe for 100 dollars... i told arti about this and he said i could incorperate it into a beasty here... and so here i have tried.

10  Santharian World Development / The Santharian Bestiary / ... on: 01 January 2003, 23:56:00
yes well thats what it is supposed to be so i just made it into a semi-sentient species of animals... with less capabilities.

11  Santharian World Development / The Santharian Bestiary / Seethe on: 01 January 2003, 19:23:00

Seethes are quite a ferocious species. They are borderline sentient creatures.  Perhaps if they had spent more time trying to evolve and less time trying to maim sentient creatures they would do slightly better on the line of evolution.  They are quite a nomadic race and can communicate only through their high pitched screeches or low pitched growls.  They are not extremely noticed as they are only pests to those who enter forests in the wrong places or who simply annoy a pack of seethes.

Seethes are quite unique in their appearence.  On first appearence one would think that it is a  barbaric cross between an elf and a halfling but in fact they originated on their very own.  The main thing that makes these creatures resemble halflings in any way at all is their size.  They come up to around 1 ped at best but this is not very often seen as they will rarely stand on their legs.  They tend to walk on all fours causing them to appear slightly like a quadpidal creature though they are in fact bipedal.

Their head is around 1/4 the size of their body had they been standing and oddly offsets the body.  Because of this an average seethe will have intense calf muscles but the rest of the leg will not be very muscular.  It doesnt really matter though as you can clearly see the nerves through the skin as it is wrapped tightly against the legs and it appears to be a house of writhing snakes when a seethe moves.  It's front legs or arms are massively built as this is where most of the weight must be maintained.  When it is on trees it moves very curiously.  It will push up with its arms and then when it makes its way back down it will pounce off with its calfs.  Once it has done this it will simply gain momentum with its arms and then continue the movement with its legs.

Seethen eyes are a unique as well.  They have seemingly inverted eyes.  Most seethen eyes are red but the main eye layout is dissimlar to the average eye.  The "whites" of the seethen eye are black and the pupil is white.  The color remains the same and surrounds the pupil.  This is quite noticable as their eyes take up nearly 1/3 of their face.  Their nose comes out slightly but is quite long and slender (much like an elves)  Their heads resemble bard's string picks as they have an oval appearence but the chin curves into a point.  Their mouths are filled with sharp untended teeth.  Their lips are normally a pale purple and contrast to their off white skin.

Special Appearence Atrributes:
Seethes are warriors by nature and as they are semi sentient they have a sort of tribe initiation.  For a seethe not be outcast and cast into seemingly death they must kill some sort of sentient creature by the age of 10.  After killing this creature they strip it of its face and cut holes so it looks sort of like a seethen face.  Most any seethe you find will be wearing a skin mask.  They will 'peirce' the ears in the cartalidge section and then use a string to connect it as a mask.  Some joke that they wear these masks because they have no hair but it is something that only causes intensification in the seethes freakish appearence.

Special Abilities:
Seethes have few special abilities except for their ability to attach with such ferosity.  They do not come unexpected but can be dangerous in packs.  They at first appear harmless, save the mask of flesh, but they test the victims awareness by sending a lone seethe out to attack the victim.  If this seethe is killed then they pack will not attack and if the seethe is able to attack the victim all of the pack will launch out of hiding.

Seethes have no set territory and simply roam the Zephyrian forest (save the Quaelhoirhim tribe lands as they know they cannot take on a whole species).  They assume that the majority of the forest belongs to them.  They will always fight for their territory, though they have none.  If someone invades where they happen to be they will attempt to kill it, or run away if the scout is killed.  Though they only do this on most creatures- there are 2 exceptions.  If they see a human or elf they will not test the creature and simply attack it.  Oddly enough however while defending their territory they will all take the scout role and not simply pounce from hiding.

Seethes eat both meat and vegatables but also scavengers (as most creatures are).  If they do not come across nothing edible in an extended time (which is highly rare as they live in the forest) they are not above scavenging.  They will not eat human or elf meat and simply kill them out of hatred.  It is not quite sure why they have such a strong hatred for these races but its quite obvious that they do.  Besides these two exceptions they will eat anything edible they can get their hands on.

They favor wolf meat but for the most part are apathetic about what they eat.  They are not a great meal for most creatures but wyverns will eat them if they can spot them.

Attack Patterns
The seethe attack patterns are constant.  They will send a scout seethe out to attack or die which will determine if the pack attacks or runs.  This is always the matter except for when they attack humans or elfs in which they all take on the scout role.

Scout Attacking
When a seethe is playing the scout role it will stand upright and when a seethe stands upright his heads weight makes him tilt slightly backwards.  Its massive arms lie limp and akward at its side during this point.   It moves one leg which in turn moves from his leg up to his shoulder on one side.  It does this with the other leg and continues for about 10 seconds of silence.  It will then stop and let out a high pictched yet stop chirp, like something a bird would do.  It then appears to fall backwards as it bends over backwards but in fact it is getting ready for its attack.  As it falls backwards its catches itself with its arms and its legs flip over its body.  With this it uses its legs to pounce and if it gets this far the rest of the pack will pounce out of the trees to the target.

Seethen behavior is a hard thing to grasp.  Some times they will be completely calm and sometimes they will become extremely adgitaded.  They are very possessive and if something is theirs they will by no means give it up, even to a mate.  They have severe mood swings which makes them very possessive.  The only thing that is constant in these creatures lives is their attack paterns, which although is constant not extremely stable.

Seethes mating is unknown.  It is beleived that it is much like normal mating but in fact it is quite unique.  Seethes do not reproduce by average means and reproduce asexually.  The seethes are actually grown from caccoons high in the trees that are formed from planting ones finger in a tree, which interestingly enough allows one to see how many children a seethe has beared by how many fingers he is missing.  The process takes around 2 months for the cacoon to mature and break and then the seethe will live another 50 years at best.
