541  Organization and General Discussions / Announcements and Web Design / Re: Inauguration of Erian Melor to Full Membership on: 10 October 2005, 13:58:00
Grunok applauds enthusiastically as the sage announces Erian's accession to full membership, eyeing the golden key somewhat jealously.  Nevermind, she thinks with a grin,  I am sure I'll be able to persuade him to pass on the most interesting stuff until it's my turn... well, maybe anyway.  It would be just his sense of humour to make up wild things and never tell me one bit of the truth of what goes on in there!  She smiles at the thought.

Grunok laughs aloud as she sees, up on the dias, Erian being buffetted from one team member to another - to her eyes he looks something like a bottle caught in a current; and a particularly pink bottle after that kiss!  Seeing him finally decend the dias to mingle with the crowd, Grunok rushes over to him and tackles him with a one-armed hug, planting a loud kiss on his ear.  "Well done!" she cries. "How does it feel? Ooh, wet I see. Sorry about that," Grunok apologises, seeing that her tackle-hug had caused his glass of wine to spill all over his tunic.  "Well, it's about time you had a new shirt anyway.  I always thought it was odd, you wearing that pink one.  I bought you a blue one as a present for the occasion, so I guess now is a good time for you to wear it!"

Grunok thrusts an inexpertly-wrapped package at her co-mod and former rank-mate, and walks backward into the crowd with a mischevious smile on her features.

Hey, Art. I noticed that you de-capitalised all the TRULish words in the troll entry. My understanding of it was that the words are all meant to be in caps. *Helps annoyingly* :b

D&D Rendragon!  :hug  for the likeminded newbie.  Although I must say that your twenty-seven years' experience makes my ten look positively puny!  I have really enjoyed reading your introductory posts, and will be most interested to nose through the proposals you come up with.  Welcome to the Dream!

*Hears a whip crack frighteningly close to her ear and obediently scurries back to her study*

Welcome, Theoric!

Wait, what? Judith is running Santharian recruitment and training sessions now? :b  Good to meet you, Theoric. Anyway, I am sure someone will presently be along to show you around, but until then we have plenty of newbie threads for you to read to get you started. Enjoy!

*Waves to Arti* :wave

:lol  I didn't mean for the picture to be taken as anything more than a sketch, whether to be completed by me or by someone else. Also, I realise that New-Santhala is way out of my league yet! Just mean that maybe some day... *looks wistful* :D  For now I will look around and see what needs to be done. Maybe proposing some additions to the entry on the Goutonch School for Ladies, and other little things. *Slaps self on wrist* But NOT until I have finished my essays for this half-semester! :hammer

Lol, I was!

Thanks, Eri, Gean, Thuja! I don't think I'll be the most productive person around in terms of quantity, but I think I will enjoy working on a few things.

Hi, all.

I'm new to posting on the dev board, but I've been lurking here for a few weeks now. I'm not sure if I want to become a full-time developer, but sometimes I get these ideas which won't go away...

A case in point: I read Dala's post about the shadow elves, and decided to draw a coat of arms. I will put it up in that thread for inspection if I may, but I thought I ought to post here first, to ask if that would be ok. I also have delusions of grandeur about helping to develop New Santhala, the City of Light :loveeyes ...possibly...

I think if I do start developing stuff, it would be places or people, and possibly races. Um... I guess I could also say who I am. I'm a girl-woman-student-counsellor from New Zealand, and I'm 24 years old.  Hi! :wave

I'd like to reserve Ingeborg's #22 for the Grasslands of Hylach, please.  ;)

I'd like to reserve Quellion's #112 - Portrait 1 for my Greyler entry.  I envision it being a picture of a young man looking bitterly back down the hills toward his village, from his new home in a cave among the Greylers.

This is great *nods fervently* Although I do agree with both Art and Jusy on the colour issues:  The orc seems too red-skinned; I had thought it could be attributable to the light from the fire after a brief look at my break, but the rest of the light, f.e. on the books on the table, is far greener.  Also I agree with Judy that the candle flames do look sort of greeny.  Otherwise, amazing work Quellion!  Thankyou for such an inspiring picture! *Puts 'imp' on her dev schedule*

552  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: ASHZ-OC ORC picture thread on: 30 December 2005, 21:24:00
From Koldar's reference picture, I'd always thought of Ashz-Oc as much slimmer, and more elfin in appearance.  This guy looks like a Losh-Oc in his build, although the presence of hair and the shorter arms belie that.

The picture is, as always, fantastic.  *Jealous* :b   I love how the background implies the frosty desolateness of the mountains, I find it very atmospheric.

:pet  :hug   It's great!
And I think having both glasses there is much more intuitive. :nod

It looks great!  The only thing I'd change would be to start close-up to Ciosa and then be able to zoom out, as opposed to vice versa as it is now.  Either way it will be really helpful.  *Grins happily at the wonders of modern technology*
