Good point... I forgot the written language.... I'll just create a draft and we can do the necesarry corrections  :)
33  Santharian World Development / Languages and Runes / Re: Just a question.... and a request... on: 06 March 2008, 10:08:24
Ch will be replaced by TS, F will be replaced by P, V will be replaced by B. J does not exist only hard G as in get.
I just thought that the evolution of languages are quite inevitable. Dwarves might be protective of their culture but.... they have been sundered from their kin for many million years (I think) and they live on another continent so I just thought that change will come to them slowly and their language will evolve to another direction unlike the Santharian Dwarves  ;)

Besides, isn't that the elven myth is just a.... myth? ANd the dwarves believe in another myth? But no worries, some of the words of the Kavogerim will have its roots in the Santharian Dwarven Tongue  ;)

Bard may you please send the file to me....

And anyways here are a  few things I have thought about....

agglutinating language
It will be written as an abugida - following the runes of the Santharian Tongue
The Abugida:
A
B
K
D
E
G
H
I
L
M
N
O
P
R
S
T
U
W
Y
There are no digraphs like in Santharian Dwarves,,,,,,,

Kavogerim.... might have a different sound don't you think? The tribe has encountered and has been opened to the outsiders for quite sometime now....

I am not yet familiar with the dwarven language in Santharia but does anyone know if it is an inflection, isolation, or an agglutinating language???

So I guess the language of the Kavogerim must be quite different from the other dwarves since its exposed to the environment and different languages such as tharian...

And the Kiingerim must have a language that is more or less same like the thergerim?

Great, I can finally get my hands on Nybelmar.....  evil

I have a little knowledge about the Dwarves in Nybelmar.... what are they??

(I am creeping myself, my interests are jumping from board to board...)

Tolkien's tengwar script and mot of his written scripts were abugidas.... since the vowels are indicated by modifying the consonant letters.... :)

So the script used on styrash is an alphabet? or is it still undecided?

Also, may I as well include in this thread.... does santharia need another dwarven language??? I am eager to create one.... I would like to use Filipino/Tagalog as my basis, it is a hard sounding language too! (I think)
(Yes I know its hard... but still)

Although I only have but a few knowledge in linguistics...

Also just another one... is the elven script an alphabet? or an Abugida like Tolkiens?
42  Santharian World Development / Languages and Runes / Just a question.... and a request... on: 16 February 2008, 22:49:26
Does the styrash language have any kind of phonology table (I don't know what to call it)? You know, the position of the tongue and the articulation of the air that makes the sound. If there is none, maybe I could give it a try if I was to be allowed to. It might make the pronounciation of the styrash words much easier.
43  Santharian World Development / Magic in the Lands of Caelereth / Re: Spell Update / Vanish / Wind Element / Level I on: 16 February 2008, 22:45:12
Since a physical interaction can be done with the object then it cannot be an illussion. If the boulder vanished through the use of illusion, no one can pass through it because its just invisible. The speel up there literary makes the object dissappear or more wind like - Mina -  So I guess you have to remove the illusion part .

44  Santharian World Development / Magic in the Lands of Caelereth / Re: Updating Water and Wind Spells on: 15 February 2008, 18:20:17
Most outdated spells does not follow the current system anymore (at least thats what I notice.). The new magic system which would be the Ximaxian have undergone several revisions and updates that the spells written before the current magic systems do not apply anymore.
