1  Santharian World Development / Cosmology, Myths and Religions / Re: Zodiac: Astrology in Caelreth? on: 01 March 2009, 07:15:31
True... I would imagine that it would be hard to develop something like that in the context of an earth-like astrological system.

I'll take a look at what we have and see if there is some way to create an easier system.
2  Santharian World Development / Cosmology, Myths and Religions / Zodiac: Astrology in Caelreth? on: 01 March 2009, 06:22:43
Hello all,

I am curious as to whether the equivalent of the Zodiac has been designed for Caelreth or not. I've done a bit of digging, and I know that we have many constellations and concepts in astronomy that already exist, but I haven't found much on the topic of astrology.

I ask because I am interested in developing one if it does not exist, or updating one if it does.

Thanks!

3  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Tell me what you think... on: 19 June 2008, 08:16:21
I suppose this shall be my 3rd submission... it's different from my first two, but it's not so ambient, so I hope it's not either too simple or too complicated.

As for now, it is untitled, and I need reflections on exactly what you picture when you hear it so I can think up a good title for it.

Thanks for listening. :D

I thought that sounded pretty good, but I agree with Macar a little, it did kinda sound happy. Maybe with a menacing march rythmn it'll bring out more hostility.

Unless you are working on something special, would I be able to play around with it a bit?

Haha wow I'm glad it was so effective!

Yeah, I am considering this very rough because a lot of less noticeable things are really driving me crazy in addition to the scream and laugh problem, so hopefully I will have a much better version by monday...

Thanks a bunch for the feedback guys, it's very motivating!

Just to let you know right now, I have plenty of music entries for Santharia, and I really don't know why I waited until now, but at least you don't have to wait very long between each one...

The one was inspired while I was reading the Netherworlds entry. Turn up the bass, close your eyes, and picture Osthemangar! It might even scare you.

7  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: Okay, so what kind of music are we looking for here? on: 18 June 2008, 07:15:10
Oh really?? I was under the impression that Aeruillin was mostly jungle... or wait, isn't it desert or something?? I think I may have got it mixed up with another song I made that sounds like it would really fit with a desert theme.

Regardless, it matters not which jungle, I would think. If you wanted to make it the theme for a Nybelmarnian capital, that would be just fine with me.

Oh, and thanks for the feedback, Bard, I HAVE heard alot of your stuff, and personally I think your samples sound close enough, but I think it's probably a good thing I changed around the voices...

Sorry, I think that fixed it...

Try hitting the link again.

Here, I hope this sounds more to your liking!

I replaced electronic sounds with realistic sounds like flutes, wet wood bass, and deep choir samples. It sounds MUCH more natural and un-synthetic. Let me know if I still need to touch up some sounds, or if this is what you were looking for.

"The Jungles of Aeruillin"

Just hit the play button. You have the option of downloading the song if you want.

Thanks!

Actually that's what I was primarily worried about... I kinda get a more modern feel because some of the samples are the same bits I use in electronica.

I am wondering though, are you referring to the pads as well when you say it sounds very electronic?

If this fits, then I would be happy to email it to art...  but I just don't know if it fits the vibe. I've mostlly heard strong classical pieces, but I just don't feel like that fits all of the continents, so I think this song that I made would be a good addition.

I would like to retitle it "Jungles of Aeruillin" or something acceptably similar if it is accepted.

So yeah, just listen to the song above and leave some advice or feedback down below.

Ah, I see now why this is not a good first attempt for a spell!
*smacks forehead*
Alrighty then... *sighs* I'll finish my other entry and then spend more time focusing on this for a while.

Okay, I think I have an idea, but first I need to know;

How exactly does a wind mage create a regular lightning bolt, as in the spell "Clap of Thunder" and/or "Static Bolt"?
14  Santharian World Development / The Santharian Bestiary / Re: The Rat / All Continents / Rodents on: 25 December 2007, 13:24:27
Is it ready for integration??
15  Santharian World Development / Magic in the Lands of Caelereth / Re: Static Singularity (Another Attempt (Go easy on me!)) on: 23 December 2007, 02:53:19
Hehe, true, but it IS still a weather phenomenon, and it IS still synonymic with a point of origin in space where gravity folds over, but in the context of a different subject and element, so instead of incredible forces of gravity spewing forth, we have incredible forces of energy or "lightning" spewing forth from this point in space at this specific time.

Although I have to agree, it is a cool word, so that's an added bonus.
