I fear, you misunderstood my sentence.

One metal, i considered was moonsilver (ithildin).
This is a metal, which only reflects moonlight, so it is dull in sun or artificial light, but will shine brightly in moonlight.

An other metal, i thought about is black iron. This could be normal iron, which, due to some special forging technique, becomes black.

And the third unusual metal would be a rare substance, with the look of gold and the strength of iron.

IMO, your idea of the camouflage-metal is great, it could offer a lot of possibilities.

On the site, things are described a bit different.
In the description of the Aeloians(if they count as real Brownies), alloys are mentioned.
This may be out of date, but is the (probably) most recent information, i have access to.

Non-Standard-metals, i think of moonsilver or ithildin, as tolkien uses to call it, or black iron, or a kind of very rare metal with the color of gold, but the strength of iron.

And it would be interesting, if Thergerim or Brownie smiths have mastered the art of forging aluminum, platinum or titanium. What about magnesium, or would that be too much "high-tech" ?

Eventually, magic could have offered possibilities to improve existing metals.
Magic powers could for example tighten the structure of certain metals, making them more durable.
Or with the help of the magic, different kinds of iron could be forged together in incredible thin layers, much like the way, high-quality japanese swords were forged, but with magic, this could be made even more perfect.
Or magic could clean the metal of all other substances, improving its quality.

May i ask, if there are (aside from the usual mithril) any metals or alloys, that don't exist in the real world?
Or are there magical forging techniques, which produce special forms of alloy (i'am thinking of magically compressed steel or something like that)
And if yes, what are the characteristics of these metals?

Thanks in advance        Darwin

Thanks for the quick answer.

*points at the title* ...still, i had to ask, to be sure:

Is there a "today" time in Santharia?

I read trough the history-section, without being able to figure out, which year is the most recent.

I hope, anyone can give an answer.

Hi all :-)

After having read trough most of the texts about Dwarfs and related subjects on the site, it seems to me(if i didn't miss something), that especially information about dwarfen cities and history is quite scanty.
So my question is, if there is anyone, who could provide additional knowledge, concerning Thergerim?
