I hereby reserve Quellion's Fireball picture as nobody else seems to have an intention to grab it.

Well, I would have taken it as the next thing on my list. But that's still a while probably :)

You could go for Losh-Oc. Looks a bit like Shakgrah the Searer.

Another solution could be to make it a wilderness orc (according to the Orcish Warfare these are smaller and weaker orcs living a bit around).

Although currently unavaileble, I could maybe use #19 - Orcish Shaman from Faugar's Picture Resources for the Orcish religion? Since I'm busy with a part on the shamans.

Ungra would be my mage counterpart ;)  I've got some stuff I'd like to do that I was going to use him for a source.

I still love it :thumbup

Oh, and on a sidenote, Arti: they have been in Ximax since 2207 b.S. so that could be a reason to have them incorperate the 'X' it in their CoA. Not that this one isn't good of course.

*scrapes his chin of the floor*

I looove that sketch!

Btw: I bet that it's a Ximax rat instead of a mouse and the guy in the cage could very well be an imp.

PS: I looove that sketch :)

The first thing I don't like is the missing torso, there is too much space above his head, looks unbalanced. If you could add more downwards this would surely look better.

I think this makes him look a bit small compared to the rest of the room, like he's on his knees or something.

But what would a pile of skulls be doing there in the field? A mass grave of some kind? I will add skulls, that’s not the problem, just having trouble visualizing where/how to integrate them there.

What an artist paints isn't always exactly like the reality right?

And I wouldn’t make him too skinny. They are strong and powerful orcs after all.

PS: Go orcs :number1

I just might do so. Could take a while though, uni's starting so things could get a little busy.

Which reminds me: We still don't have the classic fireball spell on the site.

Well, with the Ximaxian system you would most likely create the fireball on the desired location instead of really throwing it. *thinks* Unless maybe you could have a greater reach when it is thrown.

Also, raping or not, if they're going to give birth afterwards the woman will need to survive. I don't think Losh-Oc will leave much survivers. Maybe they hunt for halforcs made by other orc tribes?

1017  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: A couple of my ideas, some concerning the Losh Oc... on: 09 August 2005, 11:45:00
Idea 1 doesn't seem to make much sense. First of all, the Losh-Oc have bread warwargs, which are very large wargs (about the size of a horse). If they want an ‘in between’ warg they could settle for the regular one (because if they would be smaller you couldn't ride on it anymore). Not much use in making them faster as well. I seem to remember wargs can outrun a horse on short distances. In any case, it’s not because they are bigger then wolves they are slower.

If you wanted to make more like some sort of 'orcish dog', maybe you could develop some kind of hyena? They are smart creatures (they sometimes even ambush their prey), ugly like hell, barking resembles laughing, can digest rotten meat and they can crush bones with their teeth.

Well, you said yourself that it's the combined strength of the mage and the demon are needed to pull a demon through the fabric. So it would be pretty much the same here. And since this is a more symbolic way, the 'size' of the hole could depend on the strength of the demon, explaining why even powerful demons can't pass.

Anyway, you could see it as the mage catching the demon by the horns and pulling him through, with the fabric stretching around the demon, immediately shutting down again. So that way it would be the same as what you said. It doesn't necessarily have to be a gaping hole.

The actually 'holding open' an entrance l is maybe something that could have been done by the chosen ones during the war of the chosen?
