So I was writing something, and it took a turn for the playfull (or at least as playfull as I get ) and it made me think of Santharia, where I had not been in some time.  The peice isnt finished yet- but let me know what you think:

well, I dont want to derail this thread, but I'm doing well.  I just got married

I've not made any significant pogress, or any, on the deity themes- but I do have a work in progress that I think fits our project- which I'll post soon in my own thread.  And, if you can give me the names of those midi's I sent you long ago- I probably already have mp3 versions on my putfile site.

As for the topic of this thread- I think what you are reffering to with the intense swelling sound is the bass- I can adjust the ballance- but I'm affraid of losing the sound entirely when it's more quiet- so I dont know if anything can be done.  In Myth, there are two problems- the first being my aforementioned percussion difficulties, but there's also the the problem of the fact that he used alto saxiphone in his orchestration- and my sample for that instrument is pretty lousy.  It could be changed to another instrument- but I cant comfortably do that without the consent of the composer.

Did somebody say MP3s?  I like converting midi files to mp3s so I had a crack at this.  only problem is that myth had a lot of percussion, and my program dosent like percussion (it can never figure out what drum is supposed to be what)  anyway- I had a crack at three of thses- hope you like 'em

and geeze, his highschool band is going to play this?  he must have some tallented young folks, because this is some difficult music!

Well should I add to or restart the peice?

Well the peice can easily have more gentle music added to it- but I think the peice would be severly misused on anyone else- since there's so much that of the sea in it.  I chose to foucus on the sea becase... well there's a lot more sea than anything else on earth... erm santharia that is.  I also dont see eye to eye with you when you say that it is too masculine- women dont have to be gentle and weak- especialy not powerfull godesses. 

Anyway- I think adding more gentile music to what's already there would be a much better soulution that starting over.  I could write another minute of music, effectively making the peice half about the wild one and half about the rest of her personality.  I'd like to hear what other people think: do you want more added on, a fresh start, or would you rather I leave it be?

Attatched is a preview of my idea for the next movement.

I couldnt attatch the new peice because the file was too big- sorry.  I'll use attatchments when I can.

Just to be clear- this is not finished.  I couldnt live with myself ending something like that    It's too short anyway- that's why I labeld it a WIP (work in progress) and why I said, " It's normaly my policy not to post more than one WIP version of a particular peice- but I'm excited about how this one is comming"

It works just fine for me- cool   I think the music fits well, but I wonder if it would be better with some strings.
