I have been thinking about writing an entry for the Nightfog Cliffs in the Adanian Sea. But before I get started I wanted to know if that would be acceptable?
Just a thought on Eyelian 'burial'. Maybe you could incorporate some kind of sky burial. It's a nice way to give something back to nature and would be especially fitting for the eagle clan.
- The roots are red, fitting in with the idea of Badriy'yah's blood that soaked into the ground.
- I've mentioned that it is killed by heavy frost and as such becomes sparser the further north one goes. Also that it likes south facing positions or open ground.
- I've given a bit more detail re. the flower head and petals.
- The size is now back to two palmspans, but with the ability to grow taller in areas of taller vegetation.
- And I've given a brief overview of the myth instead of the full, detailed version.
I think that is more suitable for a plant entry.
I'm working on developing the myth into a separate entry!
So, I guess I'll think up some more terms and add them in...
...and if anybody else has any suggestions then feel free to post them here! The more the merrier...
It'd be nice if we could have the actual rhyming slang, what it stands for, and maybe an example of use.
Often the rhyming part is left out when speaking...as a classic example from Cockney slang, "Butcher's Hook" for "look". In this case, people usually just say "Butcher's".
Something that I'd like to work on is developing a kind of rhyming slang. Basically something that would be used by the criminal element of Santharia...thieves, pirates and the like.
Here are a few examples of what I mean...
Arkan's Ear = Beer (I'm dying for an Arkan!)
Dwarven Mine = A long time (I've bin waitin' a Dwarven!)
Falcon's Claw (Fally) = Whore (Look at that fally over there!")
Herring's Bay = Gay (I reckon ee's an 'erring.)
Kraken Bait = Mate (Alright me old Kraken!)
Mako's Tongue = Long - (as in 'to long' for something) - (What ya tonguing for? (What would you like?))
Northern Peak = Leak (urinate) (I'm bursting for a Northern!)
Alright, at last I've managed to tweak this plant a bit!
Basically, I've changed the height and added in some detail re. it's territory. I've also sketched out a basic myth for it, based on the Chinese tale of Chang E.
Talia: I set the myth in the Rahaz'Dath and guess that it would be told by the Shendar. I chose that area because of your expertise on the Shendar and the desert. Is there anything that you think should be altered?
I'll take this back to the drawing board and see what I can come up with.
I haven't got round to working out a myth for it yet 'cause I wasn't aware of any myths related to the moon already in Santharia. I guess each race would have a different take on it.
Maybe we would need to focus on the myth of one race?
