Allready done that!! :D
2  Santharian World Development / The Santharian Bestiary / Re: Fleas in Santharia on: 19 December 2007, 21:21:08
What should I exactly do to adapt the fleas to Santharia? I have put a lore connection and it ends here right? I think its absurd to put giant fleas (that would be funny "Mamma a giant flea made is sucking all my blood") because fleas would be ordinary and not fantastical animals in every world you may create.
I think im maintaining the ordinary flea ONLY...if i created some sort of a cult flea for the Darkpriests.
Like they infected the flea with sickness and then send them to the prson they want to kill house. Then the person dies, and the flea too because the disease they infected the flea with, is so mortal that kills the fleas before they can reproduce.
So perfect murder. THe person dies and the evidences "die" too.

Hi there! Already done all that!
To the descrption now. (glup)

2»I have taken out Louira which needs a base in some other forum that doenst exist so Louira.
3-I have red it and made small grammar corrections ("the","a", etc.), and I think there is no nead of marking these things.
4-I have certiefied that everithing is in order and i said that all the changes are in red colour.
5-Im not inventing nothing as well as I check.

I didnt change much only the organization of the integral text, grammar errors and i have put history and myth/lore.

grin Hi ................. i have made the fleas but im wondering if i can make like a giant flea from the desrt of Ráhz-Dáz, or a ice resistant flea from the Ice Lands or should i just maintain this flea?
9  Santharian World Development / The Santharian Bestiary / Fleas in Santharia on: 18 December 2007, 07:20:43
Together with miraran i though that we dont have fleas in snathria so he said to me to do them and here they are:

Flea is the common name for any of the small wingless insects that are known in the entire Santharia world from the Ice Lands to the Deserts of Aeruillin). Fleas are external parasites, living by hematophagy or off the blood of mammals and birds, sucking it with its mouth parts. Fleas are very resistant parasites and their morphology is adapted to the only thing they do in their sucking blood life: sucking blood. Places were fleas suck blood normally make irritations and scratching.
Fleas are small (half Nailsbreath inch) (half and a bit Nailbreath long), agile, usually dark coloured (e.g. the reddish-brown of the cat flea), wingless insects with tube-like mouthparts adapted to feeding on the blood of their hosts. Their bodies are laterally compressed, (flattened side to side) permitting easy movement through the hairs (or feathers etc.) on the host's body. Their legs are long, the hind pair well adapted for jumping (vertically up to seventeen Nailsbreath high); around 200 times their own body length, making the flea the best jumper out of all animals (in comparison to body size). The flea body is hard, polished, and covered with many hairs and short spines directed backward, allowing the flea a smooth passage through the hairs of its host. Its tough body is able to withstand great pressure, likely an adaptation to survive scratching and smashing by bigger hosts. Even hard squeezing between the fingers is normally insufficient to kill the flea; it may be necessary to crush them between the fingernails or roll them between the fingers.
Fleas lay tiny white oval shaped eggs. Their larvae are small and pale with bristles covering their worm-like body. They are without eyes, and have mouthparts adapted to chewing. While the adult flea's diet consists solely of blood, their larvae feed on various organic matter including the feces of mature fleas. In the pupae phase the larvae are enclosed in a silken, debris covered cocoon.
Special Abilities
Fleas are small animals and the only ability they can do is sucking blood.
Even there it's known that like mosquitoes, fleas can transmit sicknesses and epidemies very fast, because they drink blood of one host that can have the sickness and by sucking the blood of another host they can spread the sickness.
Fleas can be found in all Caelereth and big cities like Macogg are full of them, specially in dirty and dark places (e.g. taverns, streets, old gardens, etc)
Habitat & Behavior
After its larval state and when the flea reaches adulthood its primary goal is to find blood - adult fleas must feed on blood in order to reproduce. Adult fleas only have around a week to find food once they emerge, though they can survive two months to a year between meals. A flea population is unevenly distributed, with more eggs than worms or adults. Their total life cycle can take as little as two weeks, but may be lengthened to many months if conditions are favorable. Female fleas can lay 500 or more eggs over their life, allowing for phenomenal growth rates.
Fleas habit in dark places, dirty and full of mammals and birds were it can suck a lot of blood so the ideal place to found fleas is in taverns.
Fleas feed exclusively on blood, being that the aliment that the entire animal is designed to fee on. From the leg to the mouth all the animals focus on sucking blood smoothly and fast.
Fleas are insects that have many stages of life, going through the four life cycle stages of embryo, larva, pupa and flea (adult). The flea life cycle begins when the female lays the eggs after feeding. Adult fleas must feed on blood before they can become capable of reproduction. Eggs are laid in batches of up to 20 or so, usually on the host itself, which easily roll onto the ground. As such, areas where the host rests and sleeps become one of the primary habitats of eggs and developing fleas. The eggs take around two days to two weeks to hatch
Flea larvae emerge from the eggs to feed on any available organic material such as dead insects, feces and vegetable matter. They are blind and avoid sunlight, keeping to dark places like sand, cracks and crevices, and bedding. Given an adequate supply of food, larvae should pupate within 1-2 weeks. After going through three larval stages they spin a silken cocoon. After another week or two the adult flea is fully developed and ready to emerge from the cocoon. They may however remain resting during this period until they receive a signal that a host is near - vibrations (including sound), heat are all signals indicating the probable presence of a host. Fleas are known to go through winter in the larval or pupal stages.

No folk is known to venerate fleas only one little tribe in Cyhalloi, The Kasumarii tribe Darkpriests. As their Shadowmancy has the power to suck life they venerate and respect the flea by having the power of sucking the life of other beings, and more important, unseen.

“Those who dabble in Shadowmancy learn how to bend light around them, to cloak themselves in shadow, and have the frightening knowledge to turn the very shadows around an individual into spiritual ghosts that have the power to literally suck the life out of the one whom they have attacked.”
Excert from The Kurakii men, Darkpriests

Another thing:

We have gooses in santharia i know, but we dont have ducks. Why don´t Santharia doesn´t has ducks, domestic or wild? Someone could do something about ducks.
There aren´t domesticated birds like parrots, canaries, and others.

i have just followed the lines but there are some lines that i have kept like Economy which was important.
It is all new
12  Santharian World Development / Places and Map Design / Re: Simsy on: 16 December 2007, 06:08:53
According to your critics I decide to change it a bit and I did some research about avennorians and serphelorians and changed it into geographical template. It´s true if you see in the South Sarvonia Map Tribes the Avennorian and the Serphelorian meet in a place almost in Simsy. Thank you

P.S:changed type of cattle, the bullfight ring and and all things are in red colour.
13  Santharian World Development / Places and Map Design / Simsy on: 15 December 2007, 08:30:48
Here it goes about Simsy a town middle Avennorian and Serphelorian. Like Artimidor said it is not easy but i have made all the things that aren't connected to the tribes directly (like religion or history) For these aspects you can put your suggestions on.

Simsy is a small town that lies in the valley of the two mountains known as The Sentinels and it is seen in the in the north end of the Shadowwing Downs.
Simsy is a normal town in Manthria and it is inhabited by humans.
The Simsy cattle is the common Baneg Cattle found all over Southern Sarvonia, but simsyans feed them with an especial mix of grasses.
The succulent meat of Simsy created cattle is exported to Marcogg and Chondra and its fur is used to make clothes.
Simsy has a large production of stone, mostly granite that is abundant in The Sentinel’s mountain slopes.

Simsy lies in a fertile, flooded plain ambient and it has many fertile grounds. This feature is beneficent to the cattle which needs a huge amount of food to feed. on The simsyans only give their animals the natural weeds of that region and nothing more.
Simsy is is in the river valley of the Sentinels  and the pastures are near from the town and granite mines are up in the mountains. So the Simsy landscape is drawned as a small town in a regarded slope protected from the wind with the high and white Sentinels in the back part and small treks leading from the village to the plains were a considerable amount of cows and bulls could be seen.
Simsy is a small town but it is wealthy. The beef and stone trading makes Simsy a prosperous town and there are some influent merchants and nobles buying houses and working in Simsy.
The grey granite tall walls of Simsy don’t premise to see the town houses, but the houses are small and with a cubic appearance. They are normally made of granite and  have small windows and chimneys aren’t rare. A common Simsy house is small has only one big cubic room, with a big fireplace, a big round table with many chairs around it and some beds in the corners. There is maybe a cave to salt meat and to store food. There can be some shelves with books or clothes. The simsyan houses aren´t complex like Avennorian ones, and they are more apparented to Serphelorian ones.
The simsyans believe in the same good as marcoggians.

The Bullfight Fei (Fei=Ring in Kuglimz)
The Bullfight Ring is a huge building built in the middle of Simsy. In that arena the bravest soldiers in Simsy make an herculean challenge to become the governor of the town by one year. The soldier must choose one weapon and one shield and then go into the arena and fight with the biggest bull in Simsy which must be two times a normal bull (the bull is extra feed to gain weight and muscle). If the soldier kills the bull there will be a great feast with its meat and the horns will be attached to a helm and covered with gold  and that will be the governor´s crown for one year.
There are some minor bullfights in the Bullfight Ring; less important and people go there only to have fun and to admire the abilities of bullfighters that trick and finally kill the bull. The Ring has approximately 2 powder of area and it is circular and all around ,it has a high wall were a huge amount of benches stands. The benches are covered by a semi-open straw roof with a big hole in the middle that allows the enter of light.

Golden Horn Palace
The Golden Horn Palace is the palace were people meet to discuss all the city problems and is there were the governor lives. Simsy vaults are i the building too, and is in the valuts that lies all the money coming from stone and meat exportation.
It is a tall building with four floors (the tallest in Simsy), made of granite with the same small windows and two huge golden ornate chimneys coming up from the roof that seems two horns of a bull. Is  there where the Simsyan politic is discussed and resolved, and the major trades too. The governor rooms are in there, near the vault. All the building is protected by guards, less than the city walls, but yet, the bravest ones.

Simsy is located in the southern continent of Sarvonia in the province of Manthria. Simsy is located in the north of the Shadowwing Barrows in the valley beetwen The Sentinels; two giant mountains that mark the end of the barrows.

Simsyans are nice and happy people, with an inappropriate and acid sense of humour but they are smart and they have potency for business (like Avennorian) The Simsyans are very impulsive too. Their skin is light toned, their hair is normally black and long, and blond hair indicates a person from noble origin. Mans use short beards and woman have always long hairs. Normally Simsyans are small and women are taller than men.
They have small mouths, big eyes and small noses.  There are approximately 5,000 Simsyans in Simsy only and there are about 3,000 both in the mountains and in the plains.
Is probably that this ethnical appearance is an ethnical mix of both Avennorians and Serphelorians.
The pople of Simsy are very hardworking and all their work is resumed to this:

1-Try to produce the largest amount of food, both grain and meat (this in large quantities, and milk too)
2-Take what is necessary to feed well and to feed the children too, and the rest (which is a huge amount of food) is exported to Maggot and Chondra were the influent nobles pay considerable quantities of money for it.
3-All this money comes to Simsy and is stored in the city vaults.
4-This money is used to construct more farms and mines, to export even more and to earn more money and so on…

The command of Simsy is assumed by a man named the governor; which is more like a King but the only difference is that he only reigns for one year and the title isn’t hereditary – it doesn’t pass from father to the elder son. To get the title of governor, the aspirating governor must go to the Bullfight Ring and defeat with one weapon and one shield an enormous bull. If not, if he is killed by the bull he is buried with many honour.
The governor can be distinguished by having an elm with two long golden bull horns.

Coat of Arms:
The Simsyan Coat of Arms is designed as a helm with two golden horns representing the power and richness of Simsy, a shield with grey and red stripes that represent the mountains and the nearby river. There is also a face of a bull cut in two and golden and dark forms that represent the plains and the barrows.

The climate in Simsy is quite warm but in the winter people must be worried with avalanches coming from  high up in the mountains. The temperature is almost the same along all the year and only in the winter, it  drops a bit.

The official religion in Simsy is the Avennorian one.

The simsyan resources are:
-Meat (which is produced in farms in the plains around Simsy)
-Grain and vegetables (whch are produced in the farms around Simsy)
-Metal (can be found and is mined in the mines up in The Sentinels)
-Granite (can be found aroun Simsy and mined in The Sentinels)

All these resources are used by the simsyans in weapon making (metal), house building (granite) or eating and trading (meat, grain and vegetables).

The simsyan fauna isn´t very abundant, and besides from cattle only rabbits, foxes and birds inhabbit the area.
Simsyan flora is very peculiar and it has a large variety of grasses which goes from normal grass to crystal grass. The simsy-created cattle feed on them all and is that mix of grasses that give their meat a such exotic and marvellous flavour.

Maybe there is only one documented myth, which is about the the fight of Frith The Big with a bull for his election to governor. It is a description written by a cleric from Chondra when asking about a simsyan about the Bullfight Ring and its first duel.

"Frith picked a big spear and a small shield his common weapons. He standed in the middle of the arena and he seemed a god, there lighted by a ray of light coming from a roof hole. The people were quiet and no sound was heard in the gigantic ring, only the breathing of Frith. His shield and spear were reflecting the light and it seemed a star in the dark sky.
Frith was a big men and it had like some said Serphelorian body and Avennorian mind. He had Serphelorian tattoos over his body, because he believe that they gave straight to its holder.
A huge noise came from the closed metal gates, and  Frith gazed at the gate and the hoofs roaring. A tromped ringed and thegates opened. A huge black beautiful animal came into the ring. It was the size of four normal bulls and it eyes were the eyes of a morashty, red with anger and rage. Its horns were huge and the points seemed sharp as pointed swords.
Frith get a few steps back and looked for the animal. His look seemed to spot something in the bull but it didn't said nothing. He stead in the same place and the bull attacked instantly. Several dozens of tons came striking to Frith. When the bull was very near, Frith laid down and the striking bull jumped over him, and Frith with his spear stroked the soft bull belly. The started to kick with its hoof and one of them destroyed Frith´shield and the warrior flew to a far distance from the bull. The bull wasn't dead and it stroked again with a rage even bigger. Frith pointed his spear to the bull and when it was very close the warrior jumped and craved his spear in the bull neck. Then with his own body weight he craved the spear inside and inside the neck until it appeared from the other side. The bull roared and with a final hoof quick in the air died. Frith turned to the crowd an raised his arms and bowed to them.
The crowd explode in acclamations and applause's and all the types of vangloriations. Frith was then made Simsy´s first governor."

ca. 10330 b.S.
Peace treaty between Avennorians and Serphelorians

Under the leadership of Thorgeir of the Avennorians and Etain of the Serphelorians these two kingdoms sign an important trade treaty. This treaty includes a clause stipulating that the Avennorians will help the Serphelorians in the finishing of their capital, and that the two tribes will found "Chrondra". The name of this town derives from the Serphelorian word for "agreement" and is similar to the Glandorian word "chronida", meaning to cement or join together.

ca. 10000 b.S.to 9800 b.S.
Further Avennorian Expansion

The Avennorians, with their main base still in Ciosa, explore, settle and found two more settlements; Klinsor, near the southern border of the Tolonian Heath, and Chrondra northwest of Marcogg near the Mithril Mountains, becoming a river settlement off of one of the tributaries of the Mashdai River.

With the foundation of Chondra a prosperous network beetwen Avennorian and Serphelorian is created and Nisheton becomes even richest.

ca. 10000 b.S.
Nisheton Prospers

Nisheton becomes a larger community and begins to attract fishers and farmers as settlers. Various travelers see opportunities in the town and remain to begin businesses.

9500 b.S
Simsy foundation

Simsy is founded as an meat producing town that besides from trading meat with Nisheton is an outpost in Serphelorian-Avennorian trade network. The inhabitants of Simsy are an ethinical mix beetwen the two.

9200 b.S.
Nisheton destroyed

During the long years of the War of the Chosen the once proud Avennorian town of Nisheton (the later Marcogg) is pillaged, burnt, sacked repeatedly, slowly destroyed and finally abandoned and the area becomes unsettled.

Apparently Chondra and the network remain because of the connections with Serphelorians.

9200b.S to 1655 b.S
There is a hole in information for this period of time in the Chondra zone.

1655 b.S.
The Rebuilding of Marcogg

Under the leadership of Barek Swanhild the Avennorians begin to rebuild Marcogg over the ruins of the old capitol Marcogg.
The Avennorians under the leadership of Barek Swanhild return to the area and rebuild the town. It is decided for reasons of morale and historical precedent to also rename the town in honour of its original founder, Leimolf Marcogg.

1650 b.S
Simsy development by Frith The Big

The Bullfight Ring and the Golend Horn Palace are constructed in Simsy. The governator system starts working and the first governator is Frith The Big, which constructs many farms and mines and increases Simsy meat production.

 1642 b.S.
Rediscovery of Aeruillin

A new Avennorian ship is developed in Ciosa, which is called the "Barek", named after Rekj's father.
The crew brings back stories of a land that is almost all deserts (Aeruillin) and Okar also brings back people who she believes may be the people of the King. She tells the King she had to buy them from a place called Shan’Thai. Rekj's anger is kindled, thinking that his people are still being sold as slaves. After he releases the slaves he begins to prepare plans to attack Shan’Thai and free his people. This begins the Seven Hundred Year War.

1641 b.S
Serphelorian and Avennorian Establishment

Simsy hears of the comming of a war and asks for Serphelorian contingents and Avennorian ones that stay in Simsy until the war ends. Is during this time that Serphelorian and Avennorian habits mix in the simsyan society.

1640 b.S. to 806 b.S.
The Seven Hundred Year War

Rekj Swanhild starts and his successors continue the war to free his people from slavery. He and his successors send armadas of ships to attack Shan’Thai and its people to overthrow them and free the slaves. Their losses are uncountable. The Shan’Thai people and its city are just too strong and the time it takes to rebuild ships, train armies, make weapons takes its toll on the wealth, population and commerce of the Avennorians.

850 b.S
Simsy is captured
After 800 years of Serphelorian and Avennorian defence, Simsy is captured by Shan´Thai forces.

During this wars:
961 b.S - Attack on Marcogg with reinformencents from the alliance of Shan'Chahalynth. Major battles at the Lambs Grounds and the Urshrom's Downs, down until the Twynor Farmsteadings.
931 b.S- Battle at the Ouan Dhay, borders are finalized for the next three decades.
916 b.S- Chrondra is finally retake. As the town is heavily damaged by the severe fighting, Marcogg will eventually revert back to the capital of the region.
913 b.S - Simsy is liberated

Sanctuary of the Twelve in Chrondra (dominating, so it became capital eventually (motamethar))
The Sanctuary eventually brought negotiators to Chondra and some established in Simsy increasing Simsy culture and wealth.

610 to actuality
Simsy is growing every year, wealthy and more and more settlers arrive to the town.
