1  Organization and General Discussions / General Santharian Discussions / Publication | A question for All Developers. on: 16 May 2008, 01:02:59
A while ago on the RP Boards, I asked if it would be OK if I used some content from here in a story I have to write for my GCSE's, they said it should be ok as long as I checked it with the individual developers I was sourcing from in the story. As of yet, I haven't begun the writing process and so don't know what I will be drawing from apart from my CD. But emails are forthcoming.

Anyways, I started to work on expanding my CD into a short story for GCSE's when it ran over a bit, planned at the moment is the content to fill a three hundred page book with plenty more material for a sequel.

If I actually get round to writing this, would it be OK If I sought to get it published? I am asking this because it sources heavily from Santharia fluff and I feel that it is your writings, not mine, that make the tale what it is.

If it did get published and I made a bit of money off it, first on the list is a big fat cheque to Artimidor for starting this project off with the website, and then to anyone else whos material I have sourced heavily from. Or just helped me ^^

Just checking
2  Santharian World Development / Races, Tribes and Clans / New / Old Eyelians on: 09 March 2008, 07:31:32
One of the things I was discussing with, I believe, Grunok was how different the Eyelians were within their own tribe. There seems to be a distinct culture split between those who have mingled with people in the United Kingdom of Santharia and those who keep their distances.

For example
New Eyelians:
Mingled with other tribes, wear clothes, old rituals slowly dying and their housing is changing too. Government systems are adapting as is thei entire way of life

Old Eyelians:
Very shamanistic feel about them, wear no clothing for the most part, many many rituals. They also have very stylised housing within the three sub clans; Eagle, Wolf and Bear. They also still worship Father Sky and Mother Earth (Forgot the name, but it is similar) and have the prophets The Great Spirit Eagle, The Great Spirit Bear and the Great Spirit Wolf.

Would it be so hard for the Eyelians to be split into two different tribes to represent the rift in cultute within the tribe? This caused me confusing whilst writing Kanthir as to what was 'traditional' Eyelian and what is 'conventional' Eyelian.

Of course this could be me being an idealist or it could actually work. Either way some feedback would be welcome :)

Any way you would be able to do an instrumental version of this? Not that I don't like the voice (Your voice is awesome) But I love the actual melody of this.

Dear God! I'm a metal head, whats going on here.

It does sound very Enya-esque. When i first listened I was getting all nostalgic over country drives in my grandparents car. Which is weird because fifteen is a strange age to get nostalgic at.

I know that, but surely at least some of the merchant caravans the Kavogerims escort would be from Sarvonia thus the dwarves would have picked up some of it.

Of course I could be talking horse manure.

Well as the Kavogerim (Plain Dwarves) are constantly in contact with humans and other traders it is fair to assume that they are competent in Tharian which is where most of the traders would be coming from/going to. This is just an assumption and of course it could be that the Kavogerim confer with them using a series of pulleys and hand gestures...

Come to think of it it is pretty likely they do speak Tharian or some other generic tongue. So it is again quite likely that their own language would be influenced by this.

In true Troy McClure style

Hi! Im Kanthir Whisperwind, you may remember me from such CD's as Kyrridhil Culná mo the Hapless Romantic and Kanthir Whisperwind the Yourth Zealot.

Anyway, I am here today to talk about... Well actually thats just about where it all runs out. Im new the the Dev. Boards (Or else I have lost my other account) and would like to give a hand with Santharia.

First task for me would be to add to the Gryph entry as there isn't really much there and I had to draw upon other sources, Eyelian entry and my own imagination (keeping it realistic of course) as well as some real life genetic nuances such as Albino, to finish Kanthirs CD. So if anyone can offer some help as to how I would go about this, Please do =)

Yeah thats about all I have to say for now, Buh-Bye!
