Hey all, I'm not sure how many people will remember me but after a too long hiatus I'm going to try and get back into Santh again. When I started college I really got away from writing, and now that I'm in the middle of a pretty relaxed senior year with grad school apps almost finished I feel I have the time to get back to it. I'm glad to be back, and I hope I can find some ways to help out again!
Oh, my intention was that it was more sort of a flukish event, not something that was done habitually. And technically the warg was stilll far from tamed, just temporarily beaten down. Would you like me to change it?
I like it, Art! A table like this makes it much easier to formulate a dwarven timeline (or a timeline for any of the other races), working in bits of elven events, but from a different perspective. Thanks!
I'll take all that advice into account Talia, as I continue to work on putting the Ylossian history together. I think they will start out underground, as dwarves believe that the farther underground you go, the closer you are to the kingdom of Trum-Barol. But, as you said, I will try to include hints of other possibilities in the writing. Thanks
On that Fá'áv'cál'âr stuff, Art, I wonder about the idea that the dwarves would be subservient to the elves. I also wonder, at that early stage of their history, would they have reached the surface world and come into contact with other races yet? I think this is something that the Bard and I might have to discuss.
OK, I hope I have limited this spells power sufficiently. And about the Spell Enhancement section: upon rereading it myself, I too couldn't make much sense of what I wrote, so I simply rewrote the thing entirely. Thanks for the check, Mina!
A hearty dwarven welcome from me as well, Chirrip! I hope you enjoyed your time meandering about the halls of the Compendium, because now it's time to get to work!!
Psst...somebody chain her to a desk quick, before she can escape.
BTW: Might I ask by what name I know you over on the dark side of Santh? Or will I have to guess?
Thanks, Judy, I'll be sure to blur all my dates from now on.
You might want to wait until commenting, though, 'cause I'm planning to rework a few things here before going on. There's a few on-site myths/history that I have forgotten to incorporate here, and a few that I came up with myself that need to be placed in and (hopefully) given your comments/approval. I'll get on that soon, but don't feel like you have to rush to get comments. Keeping yourself away from the computer for time with family is a good thing.
And one last thing about those myths I came up with myself: I wrote out longer versions of them, though they still are sitting in my comp as I put the finishing touches on them, and I think I will post them in the library once I have revamped this timeline. Once again, thanks!
Hey there, is it alright to rewrite what I have done so far to include the early mythical history of the dwarves? The idea of setting down this concept for all the races was brought up earlier, and since the Ylossians are at least partially mythic in the way they are today perceived, I think it would be good to include their myths in this timeline.
I have come up with several such myths. Is it alright to post them in the library, see what you think, and then rewrite this timline with them (and probably several other already on-site myths) added in?
