In the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien the elves have a very special connection to the water, and I propose creating an Elven tribe based on that theory. Perhaps a connection to mer-people? An under water city off the cost of Sarvonia, which is inhabited by elves that can breathe underwater as well as on land is the idea rolling around in my head. They could perhaps be a very seclusive and peaceful people. This project would be a lot of work I know. Appearance, customs, history, connecting to other peoples in their histories as well as that of the other peoples, life-spans, relation to other elves; all of these and more would need to be created, but I am a very hard worker and would be willing to put forth the time and effort necessary to get this done. Perhaps this idea won't work at all, but I think it's worth a go.
Ok, first of all I would like to thank both Judith the Bard, and Tharoc for a warm welcome. I suppose, Ms. Judith, that as an English major, spelling ought to come as second nature, and after my first post it might be hard to believe that I even speak english, but from this point forward, it will be nothing but appropriate spelling and grammar.
As far as what my interests are; I am interested in all things fantasy, but have a very special place in my creative cache for elves. You might say that I am currently obsessed with them in fact. *Can you keep a secret? Can you......Well, good then, I'll tell you. Thus far in this magical land I have yet to read up on any creature other than the elf, and any land history I know is related to these pointy eared creatures.* Land creation and history development of any kind interest me; however, and I will not be picky when it comes to helping out with any thing I can.
Hello, my name is Miés'efér, but all can call me Mifer for short. I am, like everyone else at heart, a real J.R.R. Tolkien fan, and I can't wait to try and contribute to this amazing world. I am currently an English major in college, and hope to jump into a writing career very soon. In truth, I have allways thought of myself as a writer, but few true professionals would agree with me, ah soon enough, soon enough. *as I dream of publishing the greatest story ever told* Fantasy is it for me; starting with Tolkien for breakfast, Terry Brooks for lunch, and mixing it up at supper with some Roger Zelzany. Though I have never been a part of something as exiting as creating a massive fantasy world, I would sure like to try my hand at it! All right, all right, enough blabbering from me. Thank you all for a kind welcome thus far, and I hope to be an intricate part of your team.
