1  Organization and General Discussions / Newbie Information, Joining Requests and Recruitment / Changed me mind on: 29 December 2003, 21:47:00
After seeing Faugar's work, I realized this is completely out of my league.  @_@  Fantastic stuff!  (I was working on a picture of the Horsefay, but I have the attention span of a gnat and the shading is really taking a long time...)

Maybe I'll try my hand at developing funny little plants that sprout human arms at the full moon or something.

See you around!

2  Organization and General Discussions / Newbie Information, Joining Requests and Recruitment / Santharian Artist? on: 23 December 2003, 10:59:00
I don't know I'll have time to develop new components of Santharia myself, but I think I'd like to draw pictures for different entries in the Compendium.  Is there a need for this, or are the developers responsible for providing their own pictures since they were the ones who came up with each item?

3  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Chinese man? on: 24 December 2003, 10:27:00
I know I wasn't invited, but I just want to comment on the "Chinese" man.

Being Chinese and being around fellow Asians my entire life, I must say that if this man walked up to me and said he was Chinese, I probably wouldn't believe him.  The cheekbones are about twice as high as those of any Chinese man.  :)  He could be Mongolian or West Asian, however.

Just thought I'd share.

4  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Santharian Currency on: 24 December 2003, 09:17:00
The Santharian conversion rates (1 su = 3 san, etc.) were very well done and understandable.  What gave me trouble when I was deciding how much money to give an RPG character is the standard the money is based on.  I understood that a san is the smallest coin, but I didn't know how much it actually was.  What could I buy with a san?  Ex: Historically, a Russian ruble was always tied to the price of vodka, even as inflation pushed everything else sky-high.  Maybe the entry on Santharian currency could be expanded to include the rough equivalent in modern usage.  Since there are members on the site from all countries, maybe it could just be something like, "1 Su will buy you a loaf of bread and some decent cheese".
