I'm in the middle of Northern California, but we moved 3 1/2 mls out of town. Now I live on the side of a canyon, benieth volcanic cliffs. It's very pretty, and we have a nice yard and a view, but there's nothing out here. Our water comes from a well, our sewer is a septic tank, we have a white propane tank instead of gas, and internet providers who cover this area are extremely thin on the ground.

That came off very well. I enjoyed it a lot.

Well, I'm back. We tried cable, wireless, and anything else short of dial-up, and now have settled on sattelite. Its kind of buggy, and sometimes I have to reload a page several times before it comes up right, but all in all its pretty good, and its the only alternative available here.

Well, I'm back from my internet-less exile, and prepared to tackle this. If anyone has comments, or sees things that I somehow missed integrating, please let me know. :D

Since I'm able to get on the internet again, I'd like to get this completed. If there are more comments, or if you already commented, and I somehow missed integrating it, please let me know. I would be glad to do whatever is necessary.

As a single white male, I hesitate to post here, but if you are willing to do without the Barbie (TM) "body style" and accept a more traditional shape, you might check out this site.http://www.visionforum.com/beautifulgirlhood/productlist.aspx?categoryid=3&browseby=product&producttype=4

I think I'm probably a Philistine. I prefer poetry that rhymes and has a repetative rythm in English. That being said, the emotional content comes across very strongly.

I have a little question. I only got through the economy section, so I may have missed it, but I was wondering, what are the qualifications for military or ecclesiastical service? You've mentioned that people either in the military or the priesthood are outside the regular legal system, and are much more lightly taxed, but how much of the population is that? If serving for a term in the military or the priesthood makes you immune for life to normal law, and normal taxation, why aren't 3/4 of your population military vets? Is there for example a height requirement? How much of your population has at one time served in the Army, the Navy, the Army of Faith, or the Navy of Faith? Also, how does your regular legal and tax system work? Do you have Roman tax collectors, paid by the extra they extort from the citizens? Are their courts in every town? Every county? Every province? or do they bring all criminals to the capitol for judgement?

Most of the pictures of greek gods and goddesses have little more clothing than that. I agree with you that it isn't the look to go for, but many cultures seem to find it mandatory.

Hi. I was going through some old pictures, and I found this. When I saw it, it captivated me. It looked to me like something that would work well in Santharia. I'm not sure what exactly it would be. Some kind of Goddess of Spring, or a Ghost of a Saint, or something else all together. Anyway, I am by no means an expert, but I scanned it in, and started working with it in Gimp. I'm a little bit afraid it looks to photographic, rather that painting. Anyway, if you have any ideas, or suggestions, or recomendations to stay out of what I don't understand, I would love to hear them.

But I have a couple entries on site. The Dulcimer, and the Inkfish.

EDIT: I just found my articles, and it looks like they never got put up. That is really weird, because I remember them going up in one of the site updates, and being able to give aura points. hmmmmm...

EDIT2: My Geode entry is still there. Misc. /Resources/Geode Mineral

(What’s a box canyon?)

Shabakuk[/color]

A box canyon is one that only has one entrance/exit. It's a canyon that is a dead end. They are used rather frequently in Louis Lamore Westerns. Many times an army which is pursued by a greater force will hole up in a box canyon, with an easily defensible entrance. Sometimes this is a really bad idea, as the enemy leaves a blocking force in position, and then simply rides around to get on the sides of the canyon, and shoots them full of arrows where they cannot escape. Alternatively, they are the location of a hopeless last stand where the defenders are destroyed to the last man. One box canyon I would like to use is the site of such a massacer. Legends of hidden treasure are there, plus, the ground is not only covered in bones, with lots of sinkholes to catch unwary explorers, but is the site of oil and natural gas seeping out of the ground, and filling the holes. An unaware person, could pass out from the gas. The hero becomes trapped there by people looking for the treasure. He manages the escape by climing the canyone wall, but someone sees him, and a mage throws a fireball, which ignites the gas which is in the air, and causes an explosion which wounds the hero, and incireates the villians. (Sorry I got off track. I got going and couldn't stop.)

Just a little thought. On earth, even during the hieght of witchhunting, some people, (often midwives or layers out of the dead,) would intentionally cultivate a reputation for having the Evil Eye, or other such abilities, to enhance their power and standing. People would leave them food, or give them thing, or charge them less, to ensure that they would not be targeted. And, they could usually avoid being taken as a witch, first, because people would be afraid to turn them in, but also because they were the only healers. And if something bad happened to them, they would put out gifts to appease the witch, and get her to lift the malady.
