Done with pleasure. ;)

It seems this song will become quite lengthy, with all these fresh additions made...

*puffs back into the turmoil of RL*

She was only visiting one stall at the market? Don't think so...

The next stall she came to on her market route
Was a merchant who showed her his tropical fruit
So long, fresh and juicy, and laid out oblique,
That she couldn’t help saying “please, just like last week”

Oh, and some music: We heard what she said

All open to comments and suggestions, as usual.

Congrats to all the winners. I hope you'll add many more beautiful works to the entry and inspire us all to continue to do so. If I get the chance, I'll try and see through some of the award-winning entries during the next holiday!

... Now, where did I leave the notes on that particular tavernsong that caught my ear lately...

I suppose a certain Bard or Northern Sarvonian Girl could "come up" with additional verses... but... I seem to recognize the verses somehow...

*tunes accordion, realizes it doesn't help that much, then offers a simple suggestion as basis for above verses*

(there's four bars of introductory music before the actual singing commences)

"...Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter
In there stepped a stately pigeon from Santharia's days of yore
Not the least obeisance made she, not a minute stopped or stayed she
But with mien of lord or lady reached the girl that I adore
Perched upon the arm now held out by the girl that I adore
Perched and sat and nothing more..."

Ok, the fifth line is terrible, but I was a syllable short :b

You have my blessing :D

It looks very nice again, congrats to all contributors.

As for the parodies page, you might want to check the original thread on the Fields of Aurium, for the parody on Fields of Gold by Bard Judith!

Things change a little when left lingering in your fantasy for a while. I hope you'll like the following still (just a few lines on it, as you requested, so that the actual entry can be formed later).

White widow
The mists of Ostemangar holds a variety of twisted landscapes, shrouded in its fogs: among them are various pools, some bubbling maliciously, others ominously silent. Whether or not you'd like to come closer, may depend on the presence of a lone, white flower floating on the water surface. The White Widow, as this flesh-eating Lotus variety is called, as not to be meddled with. Its heart the size of large orcen fist, it prays on creatures and plants that dare to come near enough for it to seize them. Not only various lizards and frogs have fallen victim to this plant, but it does not hesitate to attack larger creatures, nor, when not confronted with flesh, to attack on plants, even its own kind. That's why it's been dubbed a "widow", for rarely do two of its kind survive long near eachother.

Bigger, longer and uncut, Firefeet productions proudly presents:

The Eyelian Theme!

(no there's no new link, just follow the old one and click "Eyelian Theme". I think I'll call it a final version for now... sorry that I can't do anything about the Gregorian chant...)

Ok, ok, it's on a seperate page... here ye go

Goodie, there's more to come :)
10  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: Eyelian Music - For Nsiki on: 05 March 2009, 05:05:12
Well, those vocals are "ye standard computerized vocals", I don't have others in my current repertoire. They may remind you of the kinds used in Gothic music, but I had more African ones in mind, which you might deduce from the sound.

Since you appear to like it, shall I just play around with a little more and expand upon it?

...sweep, sweep, sweep... sweep, sweep, sweep, swoosh...

Swoosh?

The Santharian-spring-clean-sweeper looked up from his monotonous and meditative afternoons operation to notice a Marmarran scroll blocking his further cleaning of the perimeter. But issues like these can be solved quickly... a quick cough... another one. Hold on, he brings out a bottle of water, drinks, puts the bottle back in his robe, coughs one more time.

"MASTER DECIPHER ZIRON OF MARMARRA... you're wanted in the library, it seems we don't know what to do with your parchment. Is it finished, is it to be included, and if so, where in the library? Thank you for responding!"

I'm not sure you're the kind of girl who's into 'harp', but since this is a fantasy website, I thought it was kind of fitting *points to the attachment*. Many happy b-days!

Ok, here a serious take two on this project, since we're springcleaning anyway. My previous filehost has sadly gone to  filehosting heaven, so we're going to try this new one: Mediafire. A link to the directory with the first take [eyelianintro.mp3] and the newer version [eyelianmusic.mp3] should be found below:

I know there are some balance issues and there's no end yet (I'm not sure how much more I'll add, but I have some ideas still), but I was curious what you all would be thinking about it so far, especially Nsiki. Beware, I have no included all the instruments from the original entry by Nsiki, including (computerized) vocals.  :D
14  Organization and General Discussions / Non-Santharian Stuff: Life, the Universe & Everything / Re: Happy Anniversary to Azhira! on: 18 February 2009, 18:00:05
Hmmm I suppose I've taken the info in your profile a little to literally and supposed that half-orc water mage you talked about would be Azhira, but of course that's not necessarily so.  rolleyes

Forgive me for not having the time to RP on the other side, I wished I could. Then I would have known, probably.

Ode updated to reflect Az's personality a bit better  azn

And Seth, it's never too late!

Cloak and boots muddy alike, Gean walks in muttering to himself. "Pesky lower levels of Ravenport, the filth, the dirt, the rats, the..." Observing the nearly empty hall, with Nsiki just leaving by a side door, he hastily addresses Azhira, realising he's more than late.

"As my congrats are belated, I've decided to put them in rhyme. It's my first try at the new form introduced by our Shendar lady Talia during the recent anniversary festivities, called the Espinela. Hailing from the south myself, I thought it an appropiate way to pay you hommage. Enjoy!"

To Azhira el'Rosse
Azhira, only here a year,
Already you, a human mage
Have made the North into your stage.
Your research, as it does appear
Tells of the half-orcs you hold dear,
And of a tower, veiled in mists,
Where evil from the past persists.
All fine additions to the North
We hope that many more come forth
And you remain within our midst.
