46  Organization and General Discussions / Announcements and Web Design / 'bout Unix on: 17 December 2000, 08:57:00
Well, I don't use Unix (hey, do I look like the kinda guy who can afford several thousands of dollars?) but I do use Linux.

Under Linux all works fine. Even winzip, well, pk(un)zip is also available for linux (although it's named (un)zip, probably it's written by another person?)

Also, the site is perfectly viewable under Linux. There even seems to be a little program with which one can convert windows-fonts to linux-format, but I can't confirm this yet.

As far as I know, there is a (win?)zip-clone for Mac. Probably one can find it by looking at www.download.com and looking for zip/unzip with Mac as OS.

PS, html-standards etc are maintained by the www-consortium (w3c), which has always had maximum portability in mind. And the first html-standard, even was designed on a macintosh! :)

Quote Artimidor: "Ofcourse it is a different server"

Why 'offcourse'??? If it needs to be put on a different server because you change to a www-site, that would mean they have a bad setup...

Hmm, I never notice: I use a proxy. All I read is cached and pages show up within a second... I'll look up if it is a different server at home. (If I don't forget, that is:)

Me is quite interested.

May thine humble servant ask for these secret details?

50  Organization and General Discussions / Announcements and Web Design / Good! on: 16 November 2000, 05:26:00
I am delighted. Now maybe modify welcome.to/santharia to point to our new domain as well :)

PS Artimidor, did the lookups I performed helped with this (when we discussed at ICQ)?

Hmmm, is that an implicit comment that our site is bad, or that our site is good?
Somehow I wonder...

Anyway, what are they gonna make out of it? If they could be a little more specific, I'd like that. For the site as it is now seems ok to me, and I don't know if it would still be Santharia when they've edited it...
Oh, and hope they, if they are gonna do this, that they focus more on the data than on design. I'd hate it if the site would be a flash-thing :/

Anyways, it seems were getting known. People who wanna make games and sites... ;)

Hmm, Artimidor, A solution to your problem is made on the site of interplay: www.interplay.com
But, this looks more like the menu's all those windows-programs offer. Though one should be able to modify it into something that matches the style of Santharia.

I know where that 0.31% 'other browser' is from! From me, in Linux, two days ago!

I use my own proxy-server, so on my slow phone-line, things still are pretty fast 8)

Ehm, Artimidor, if two third of all users are using internet explorer, I wonder why it is said that 49% uses netscape? Where did you get that information from? Not from Micro$oft I hope...;)

56  Organization and General Discussions / Announcements and Web Design / Re: Enhanced Internet Explorer support on: 13 October 2000, 03:28:00
Always including the newest technology is a tricky thing, Artimidor... I trust that you will make sure that viewing these pages in a slightly outdated browser will still be possible?;)

Anyways, as far as I have seen, the site still looks ok in netscape.

57  Organization and General Discussions / Announcements and Web Design / What is FreeSpeech on: 17 September 2000, 03:31:00
FreeSpeech hosts websites, much like geocities, xoom and others. That's all. So nothing to worry 'bout ;-)

Not received yet? They're not very good with their agenda then? :D

Anyways, hoping you'll get some response soon. Today, the freepage-server is again... ehm, how would I put this... ehm... [sensored].

I guess the above will get sensored, so I did that in advance. Can't bother the great mind with trivial matters, now can I? ;)

Artimidor integrated a jukebox. So let's all praise him;)

Well, it's surely nice. There's a lot more music than I already downloaded (I tend to listen to music always, so).
