If I may suggest, maybe if you looked into what some real magick traditions say the properties of water are..? To get ideas or find one? Just a suggest...*hides in a corner* Just an alley beggar with his idea...

I don't really see how a ship on the water is brought down during the calmness of the weather...

How about water golems during a calm sea. They #1 push the ship along when there is no wind, and #2 destroy ships despite whether there is wind or water.

I was talkin' about RL, Winlok. I'm saying I've never heard of a ship being brought down during calm weather in the current day and in our history, except for maybe by an unseen rock or icicle...

In fantasy though there are plenty of things that could go wrong... such as water golems as you said... sirens/sea hags...etc...

Almost done with a draft.... but I have a question on the users.... I have Water Magi.... and I'm wondering about a few others...

A) Mentalists: As Water Magic deals with thought, then mentalists, who deal with various magic abilities that affect the mind, are magi of the thought sphere?

B) Illusionists: As Water Magic deals with changing, then illusionists, who can change a person's mind to see something different or actually physically change something would use the water sphere for physical change and the thought sphere for mental change?

C) Brownies: Should I include Brownies as a user or use something like Life Magi instead?

D) Peace Magi: Since water is peaceful and calming (at times), then would peace magi be users? And is there a separate name for them?

E) Anything else I should use?
