I lived in a place where Lightning storms occured daily.  It gave me a respect for it and I held the lights and booms in awe, especially when they destroyed a transformer behind the house when I was close by.

Lightning could be fitted into almost any of the elements, not being home to one sole element.  It does deal with positive and negative charges...but lightning could start from the earth and head into the skies(what normally happens to Golf'ers during a lightning storm), it could be from air to ground, or from cloud to could...they even have that strange ball lightning.  Now there are some effects that a person has when struck by lightning.  First lightning is hotter than the surface of the sun.  People will be smoking afterwards...and because of the intense sound, their ears will probably be bleeding.  Our body is uses electricity, which is how we control muscles by sending electrical impulses...and when a massive electrical shock happens...there could be tears in muscles as well as extensive brusing...most people die because our heart is a muscle that definately can not withstand that sort of electricity.

I think it could easily be put into the various elements.

Earth - Lightning starting from a grounded source to another point.

Air - Lightning starting from the air to ground, or air to air.

Water - Could as well manipulate air to ground or air to air.

Fire - The intense heat that lightning offers as well as all the energy that is expended in a short time.  It could easily tie in some how.

To me lightning can not be restrained in just one element because there is a lot in it, that makes it to occur.   There are also various ways for it to spring into effect.  These are just merely my thoughts on the matter that can be regarded or disregarded as whoever sees fit.

Vrior, nothing really purely belongs to one element or another. Everything (you, me, Talia, Koldar) possess a bit of each. However, in most every thing there is one or two elements that are more consentrated in that object or person than the rest of the elements. This is the case with lightning. It has been agreed that two or more elements have a firmer control of lightning, though it contains all the elements,

"There is much misjudgment in the world. Now, I knew you for a unicorn when I first saw you, and I know that I am your friend. Yet you take me for a clown, or a clod, or a betrayer, and so I must be if you see me so. The magic on you is only magic and will vanish as soon as you are free, but the enchantment of error that you put on me I must wear forever in your eyes. We are not always what we seem..." -Schmendrick the Magician, The Last Unicorn
