@Mirmec: thank you for your constructive comments! Can you be more specific as to which parts of the music you're referring (especially about the 'pacing music'), for example, use the time displayed in your media player? Be aware that version was just a sketch: I was only displaying my ideas, it wasn't supposed to be a whole. The version 2 and 3 were ment to be more conmplete.

@Art: thanks for the list. I've some big concerts coming up, but when that's over I'm going to try and find the causal relations for 'balanced' and 'unbalanced' music! The list will really help, I hope I hear the same things as you do.

*Kicks thread up*

Hmm, if everything went allright, then Art should have received all the updated music files. I hope that with those mp3files, this topic can be finally closed :)

Thanks for the mails of the speaker friendly musical pieces, Gean! Now I will only have to download these 24 MBs of music and then replace the versions on the site for general enjoyment :) Will do so this evening!

Great to hear that "A Day at Keep Mistrash" is now also finished and can be uploaded - took a while... :D

Ok, for all those who'd like to download the most recent versions, here are the links... These files have the music spread properly on the speakers, which was a problem before, now Gean has managed to fix that. Looks all ok now in this respect!  thumbup Also included is the final version of "A Day at Keep Mistrash" :)

Here are the links (do a right-click and select "Save As..."):

A Day at Keep Mistrash
Talia Sturmwind & Gean Firefeet - Lansquenet's Lament
Bard Judith & Gean Firefeet - Dusk is Here
Theme of Lynlith
A View from Griffin's Marl

BTW, Gean: When listening to the pieces again I notice compared to practically all other MP3 files I have and compared to the windows sound you get when clicking a button or something - that your files have a much lower volume. You really need to turn up the volume quite a bit and a windows sound is very loud if you get one when you play a piece. Do others experience that as well?

P.S. I also notice that "Griffin's Marl" seems to be a changed a bit (if I remember the first version correctly). But maybe I'm comparing it with the MIDI version we use at the Intro movie, where it sounds a bit different. Anyway, I like it :D

Arti, do you think the volume might be a problem? Because then I'll try and tweak it, shouldn't be too hard I think.

Well, it is very evident here (though I haven't noticed this before) - but we'd input from others on this to judge that better!

Well, I've put one of my mp3 files in my sound mixer and comparted it to a Jamie Cullum file which I had on my computer...

My music is evidently a lot softer. I think I'm going to try out the amplify tool ;) I'll see to it immediately, no need for extra input as far as I'm concerned...

Hi Gean!  Sorry to dredge up this old thread, but I have finally listened to your Keep Mistrash piece, and it is wonderful!  I feel quite chuffed that you would see fit to set it there!  It makes quite an example of the Santharian effort now, I think - with your music, Quellion's visual art and my words it really shows how all our individual works twine together to make the Dream what it is.  Another great piece from our resident muso!
