Hmm...

Is the first brother Time?  Maybe the second Famine?  I'm not too sure about the third, but perhaps the fourth is Death?

Sounds a bit like the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse  (yes,  I KNOW Time isn't one)

Am I on the right track here, or totally off base, Rakshiri?

This seems to remind me of a book I read as a child. Would they happen to be chinese brothers, Yin and Yang paired with Time and Famine. Oh well, thats my guess.

It's definitely time related then I'd say... And the verbs are probably more metaphorical than literal.

The first might be the Present, the second might be the Past? The third the Future? And then we have a singer as well that is no good... lol

Actually I think that does make a lot of sense earth, wind, fire and water, they are the elements, not as in periodic table elements obviously, but you know the elements of the world.

Well, and it does make some sense that Earth drinks and is always thirsty. That the wind sings is definitely very true - it just doesn't sing a song we are used to, Mira :)
