Oh my gosh, Gillian McKeith would be ashamed at you Altario. I have not eaten a single piece of red meat since I was 9.

Gillian McKeith is one of the most famous dietitians in Britain, she is brilliant. She does this program called you are what you eat.

Well it does not take up that much time to learn these things, anyway, I do not think I am quite worthy of being called a poet. And the diet stuff is just general knoledge that I have always known.

In between pilling lettuce leaves? rolleyes  I just kid ya.....

I'm not against Vegetarianism.  To each there own.  I would never forse a steak on anyone.

On the other hand, anthropologists have said that it was our ancestors change it diet from mainly plants to more protein based diet that helped develop our brains and helped with the evolution to where we are now..with out fire and tools that let us better hunt and cook, we might never have developed as a species....

of course, that assumes that you believe in evelution and are not a creationist...in which case my arguement is moot.

I do believe in evolution, but I also believe that everything should come in moderation. Yes meat is good if you when you do not have too much, but people who take that to an extreme with eating too much meat, are just kidding themselves if they think it is good.

Altario and Petros:  Actually, the creationist view might not be that different.   :)  Genesis clearly states that before the Fall (the temptation of Adam and Eve and their fall into sin) they were vegetarian ( Gen 1:29) - but AFTER the Fall, animals begin to die for man's benefit, beginning with the skin garments the two wear to hide their new awareness of 'nakedness'....       Thus in the pre-fall, innocent, 'moral' state, they ate the 'green plants' - but after sinning they were allowed to slay and use animals.

Personally, I believe in 'stewardship' - man may use all the resources of the earth in a responsible and fair manner.  It rarely works out in practice, however...

I'm sure you can get to much of santharia.. but so far, no-one ever found out how. Maybe once the Compendium reaches a more usefull size (ten thousand entries ought to be a nice goal) we can claim to be drowning in the information?
