A nice idea, and a nice realization of it, Fox

The wind ones for me could use some sort of swirls to get the idea across better, but other than that this looks fine.

Oh, one more thing: The wind border you've saved as png - transparent pngs won't show correctly on older generation browsers like IE6! Everything that is transparent for next generation browsers is completely white on IE6, which - of course - doesn't look pretty (your character portrait included BTW, Fox). I therefore always would recommend to onyl save GIFs - this ensures that pretty much everyone sees the picture the way you see it!

People still use IE6? xD

But yeah, I totally agree there. I kept the rest as gif due to that. The reason that I saved the wind one as PNG is only because it's the only one that uses a blur on the inner parts of the frame... IE, when there is an avatar in them, it looks fine as a gif, but when just showing it with a transparent middle as in the first post, the gif mode doesn't work. I just figured that by now most people use advanced browsers--though I suppose I could cheat and just print screen it as it looks to me with the forum border in the background and just upload that instead for the preview post-- *Edit* and just did that now.

The wind I had no idea what to do with, though, all the other elements have easy ideas you can use but since wind is mostly invisible, I couldn't really think of any ideas. I'll maybe mess with it some more.

And is my portrait PNG? That's odd. I can't find a PNG version on my computer and I'm sure I uploaded it as a gif. I've reuploaded it as a gif, though no idea if that's fixed it.

Problem is if you do something web related, you also have to think on how things look like at other computers. I could realize several things brilliantly with IE, but cannot due to compatibility reasons. One of the big advantages of Flash for example is that it is browser independent. If you have a plug-in (standard by now) it works everywhere.

So yeah, your picture is saved as a PNG, most likely because you've uploaded it as it seems on the Santharian server via the upload thingy - this seems to convert the GIF to a PNG for some reason. If you right-click and choose "Save as..." you will see that it tries to save a "index.php" file (ignore that weird filename), but that it selects PNG in the combo below...

I could upload it as GIF if you send me your picture or give you FTP access to the Char folder directly, so that you can upload portraits there directly - then these pics will work for sure as they will remain GIFs.

I upload it instead of link it because I know in the past you've been against people using alternate web hosters because of when said servers experience downtimes.

FTP access would work grand. I've done a few golden frames over at the RP board for people (usually on IRC rather than the thread, but I can start checking that too), so I could take a more active role in that over there in that regard with FTP access.
