If this fits, then I would be happy to email it to art...  but I just don't know if it fits the vibe. I've mostlly heard strong classical pieces, but I just don't feel like that fits all of the continents, so I think this song that I made would be a good addition.

I would like to retitle it "Jungles of Aeruillin" or something acceptably similar if it is accepted.

Here's the link: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/143978

So yeah, just listen to the song above and leave some advice or feedback down below.

I'm really digging that jungle beat, Jai!
I think it's probably a little too electric for Santharia... but make it more natural, it'd be great!

I like it!

Mind, I'm no music specialist, but it's got a nice sound and is very "easy-listening" music.  We could probably use it in the Santhworld module as backgound music and/or use it as a theme piece for one of our place entries.  But that isn't my decision, I'm afraid.

I'd agree with Nsiki, though, it does sound a bit "electric".  I'm not sure that's necessarily a problem, especially if you say it's not of human origin.  Other races would have their own styles and instruments that might possibly produce such a sound, right?

Thanks!

Actually that's what I was primarily worried about... I kinda get a more modern feel because some of the samples are the same bits I use in electronica.

I am wondering though, are you referring to the pads as well when you say it sounds very electronic?

Here, I hope this sounds more to your liking!

I replaced electronic sounds with realistic sounds like flutes, wet wood bass, and deep choir samples. It sounds MUCH more natural and un-synthetic. Let me know if I still need to touch up some sounds, or if this is what you were looking for.

"The Jungles of Aeruillin"

Just hit the play button. You have the option of downloading the song if you want.

Not bad, but it doesn't sound very medieval, right?

And there are nearly no jungles in Aeruillin, so...  undecided

No, it's not medieval, but neither is most of the music on the site - except for perhaps a piece or so of Gean's.   Even my stuff, low-key and analoguey as it is, isn't an authentic sound.   (Though Altario's 'Cancu Sheep' might qualify!)  What we are used to hearing is a sort of faux-Celtic thing which we associate (thanks to Enya and her ilk) with medievalism.

This isn't medieval, true, but it's exotic, interesting, and would make a nice background feel for something like Shar or a busy Nybelmarnian capital, perhaps.  Thanks for switching around the voices, Jairo - I love that 'wet' sound you've achieved!

YouTube actually has some great medieval pieces if you search:  here's one of the more famous 13th century compositions 'Hevene Quene', a hymn to Mary  http://kr.youtube.com/watch?v=je_SnwClPbI&feature=related - or try http://kr.youtube.com/watch?v=zHKnL4KaxX8&feature=related (which I know will remind Talia of the amazing music we got to hear at Santhmoot!

Oh really?? I was under the impression that Aeruillin was mostly jungle... or wait, isn't it desert or something?? I think I may have got it mixed up with another song I made that sounds like it would really fit with a desert theme.

Regardless, it matters not which jungle, I would think. If you wanted to make it the theme for a Nybelmarnian capital, that would be just fine with me.

Oh, and thanks for the feedback, Bard, I HAVE heard alot of your stuff, and personally I think your samples sound close enough, but I think it's probably a good thing I changed around the voices...
