Real life issues plague her at the moment. She has asked me to keep her problems to myself but aslo told me to assure her friends she would be back around shortly. So, to all of you collectively, she will return hopefully in a few days time.

Lorek - thanks for the heads up! Whatever the nature of her problems, I'm sure we all wish her well.

Quellion - thank you! I think I hold a record with this one for "longest ever WIP", at least as far as Santharian pictures are concerned ;) It feels good to finish something that has been in my head for so long though!

Twen's absence does give me some time to update the tree - I agree with Arti's point about the lack of detail in it. I have a commission deadline next monday, so it'll probably delay this, but not for too long I hope :)

here is the lastest revision. The tree has extra detail + some dried out grass (and some minor details changed). Is there some form of "necromantic" (or related to necromancy) tree in Santharia?

Woah, that TREE has as much character as any of the faces I paint!  It's positively scary - without being cliched (hand-like branches, knothole eyes, yadda yadda)   I wonder if we don't have a parasitic vine somewhere that we could use a crop of the left-hand half or left lower quarter for.....

Beautifully detailed, from the elements of the costume - the beads hanging awry over the knee and wrist, the high collar, the brocade's sheen - to the subtleties of hands and face and wispy hair that give her so much personality.   A typical Faugarian painting, with confidence and mastery in each brushstroke.
