I think I've figured out the gripe about the two-dimensional glasses/vials there. There's no other side. When you've got a glass, you can see the light hitting the other "side" (for want of a better word) of the glass.

Thanks again everyone for taking the time to comment on this Orc.  Let me know what you think.  I felt that adressing Alysse comment to center the Orc was key.  Doing that required me to move around a few other things.  Also I sharpened the prisoners arms at the top of the pic, and I like the result.  I addressed the other comments as well, but those two were the most dramatic changes.

A couple of you seemed concerned that your comments would offend me.  Thank you, I appreciate that you expressed that concern, it helps to understand the tone of what you are saying.  So as long as comments continue to be provided in kind attitude I am pretty good at not being offended.    cool

Good to see you back, Seeker!  grin

Changes look fine, only thing I miss a bit is the fact that we don't see the orc's hand now, while you see in the first version that he was reaching for an instrument... So maybe you could get rid of that bowl in front of his hand - or is he bathing his hand in it? lol

Anyway, the sharper hands fit well I have to say, also the vials look much more like glass now, same with the candles... er... I mean they look much more like candles now. In general: Pretty cool!  thumbup

Yes, I like this version...well, like is not quite the right word, but I think it's more artistically effective having the monster centered that way.  Very ghoulish.  The other stuff is background to him, even the arms in the foreground.

Maybe the orc is washing his hands in preparation for the next prisoner, Art.  Urgh.  Revolting thing.  (the orc, that is.)

I continue to be impressed with your talent, Seeker!   thumbup

nice perspective :)
The image looks good, if there is anything I'd change it would be the wall - the repetitive and clear pattern of the bricks is slightly distracting - toning it's contrast down could help - and the light color temperature. The fire / candle light being the major light source, it would make sense and enhance the mood further to have an orange/ reddish color cast. Right now the orc is almost neutral grey, so changing him (and all other objects as well) to fit the warm color of the fire would be my advice. A good idea to understand what I mean is to take a photograph taken by candle light or sunset, and use it to make a palette of colors and use it in the image - you will see the complete absense of neutral grey/white colors.
Looking forward to see the next version, good work!

That perspective is absolutly chilling, Seeker! Very well done, the orc looks sadistic, cruel, and creepycreepycreepy :)
One comment: the forearm, his left, looks a bit... twisted? The groove of the angle seems to be a bit too dead on. But I am no expet in anatomy, I could definitly be wrong ;)
Great pic!

Thanks Faugar,  that helped.

I also messed around with the arm a bit, Nsiki.

Art, I tried to reveal the hand, but it was not just the bowl in the way.  The cups too.  I think we'll just to have to use our imagination, it was the price I paid when I moved him to the center.

Very nice, Seeker D:  I wish I could do something like that. Sheesh. Though, I noticed, his teeth are still quite white for the yellowish/orange glow of candlelight.

shocked Do you have a tablet or something?

It might just be me that's seeing this, but the mail he's wearing looks like a knit sweater...

Also, the right hand (his right the prisoner's left) looks a little bit like a lobster claw from what I can tell. My suggestion would be to hint at fingers somewhere in that shadow, or to move the shadow around so that it's disguising that hand. It looks weird as is. Just my opinion though. It could very well be that it's fine. grin

Good catch Val on the teeth.  I did forget that.  No, I don't have a tablet, just using the old mouse.  But I really want one, I hear it is all the rage. grin  Just need a save up a few hundred american dollars to purchase one.

the wacom bamboo A5 is great value, and now the intuos 3 tablets are dropping in price, so you can get an intuos 3 A5 for the same price here! Highly recommended :)

Plus you don't really need a larger one than A5 I've heard, because the A5 is quite a comfortable alternative to a mousepad :)

By the way I spoke to Garrett.  My next pic is going to be Alvang.  I am looking forward to that one.  I may start work on it today even.
