Here is my interpretation of the Remusian Warsword:
The entry is highly technical, so I hope I got most of it right :) Let me know if I didn't of course.

Guess we'll need a Remusian to verify its accuracy. Like Altario :) Sword looks good to me personally, though the left top of the hilt part seems shorter than the right one... And maybe do the background somewhat different - I like e.g. Judy's approach on the Miraje Finger Blade for the background, that makes the weapons really stand out. How about something in that direction?

I looked at it and liked it so far. :D

I think, that perhaps it is a bit too pointed at the end.  Perhaps rounding it slightly at the end.  Too pointed would tend to break off or bend.  Other than that, I looked up the entry and with my imagination of what I had envisioned it, it looks good.  I'm very happy to see more Northernly stuff get illustrated.  So, you have subsequently been Auried.

Isn't Ruil Mallister (who wrote the entry) active on the RPG Board? Guess so, he's just using another name, not sure which one, though...

I've seen the name Ruil Mallister attached to some recent posts over there.

Looks good.   thumbup

One thing from me, the tip tapers a bit too much on the left side like the sword is bent.

Thank you all for such quick response and useful critique!

The sword indeed was rather crooked. I hope I fixed all the problems now. Here are two versions: "plain" one, and one with a hand holding it, to "liven it up" - I hope this is what you ment, Arti?

Tip looks much better now, I think.  I like the version with the hand. thumbup

As well, I will keep a look out for Ruil on the RP side and send him in this direction in order to get the creator's opinion.

Didn't actually mean to add a hand, Faugar, but make the background like in the picture I showed you, so that the center of the picture is highlighted somewhat (see the background transition there). Hand is good to have, though, wouldn't have been necessary - basically the idea is that such weapon pictures can be stand alone pictures, the background needs to define them as stand alone pics however and that is achieved best if you do it in a similar way as Judy did it.

I see. I do have a background here, it's not as dark as the one in Judy's picture, but rather pale yellow/green. i could darken it of course.. I'll experiment with it perhaps to see if a more dramatic background is possible.

Any chance to get the background experiments done before the weekend, Faugar?

I have decided to keep the background as it is.

I agree with Faugar here - a lighter background puts the dark grey blade in better contrast. Also, maybe we should think about having a hand grasping the hilt recommended for these weapon pictures - it really gives a better idea about the proportions! I mean just look at the two versions Faugar posted... Of course the downside might be that drawing the hand is harder than the weapon itself lol

I would prefer not to have a "requirement" to have hands in every weapons picture.  Sometimes it will be a good idea depending on the drawing and if it fits the work.  I personally prefer the version without the hand. But that should be up to the artist and the author.
