New animal that would be cool

An animal that is like a tiger but has like black fur and white stripes. and it has large golden claws and teeth and it was like a giant but it was intelligent and can talk. evil

that would be wicked evil

I don't want to burst your bubble though, and I'm no expert, and a newbie myself so I'm not sure on this, but a sentient cat is a bit too advanced for a newcomer, so I think you'd be best leaving it as a regular animal in terms of intelligence.

The next step is to get hold of an entry template for a bestiary entry. they're handily arranged at the left of the screen - scroll down till you see a box labelled "entry templates". Then you can start writing an entry. there's also loadsa useful stuff at the top of the bestiary forum, which needs reading beforehand.
and if you've any questions, just ask, there's usually someone around who'll help out.

ooh, two things that'll need extra thought for this animal - it's predator, so you need to find a place it can find suitable prey without imposing on the animals already there. also, i hope there'll be more to it than just it's appearance (which i agree, is cool)?
i think Jenna's right - sentient creatures aren't the kind of thing we're keen to have too many of, and would be pretty laborious to develop anyway, so it's best if you keep it non sentient. that's not to say, though, that it can't be smart, or have weird behaviour, or some unusual ability or property. so have a look around and use your imagination. grin

We have a great many large cats already, and sentient animals are a no-go, as they are usually merely a way to get round the 'no new races' restriction. I can't think of a place that this would really be welcome - not to discourage you, but why not try something smaller and more creative? You can make even an ant or a toad extremely cool if you put thought into it; why not try a new concept?
