Just an idea, not even a proposal for Iol

I have been always fascinate by maps, and some parts draw my attention even more, e.g. the Northern Part of Iol, direct North of the Antislar territory. The White Sea, the Sea of Iol, the channels there. But as I'm busy elsewhere, I just forbid myself to think at that area.

Then I 'found' a fascinating tribe and thought, it might be great for that area. Just from looking at the map, not considering the tribes around.

And as there is a talk about frost giants, I thought I post my idea (Just an idea!)

Not giants, no, but very tall women. A mix of elves and humans, with a bit of giant blood? Kind of amazons , have not thought about reproduction though (maybe they raid the Antislar!)

Most of them are at least two and a half peds tall, the female warriors three. And not necessary slender, but well build with the muscles needed for fighting.

They have a blue tint, fitting to the area, and are somewhat cold-resistant, so don't need to have three layers of fur.

And they are riding blue dragons! Too overpowered? Well, let us have just a few..

These ideas have not grown on my own dungheap (German saying!), but WoW was the source of my inspiration. I was so fascinated by this women there in whom one was transformed when doing certain quests, that I wanted to paint them, and then of course the idea of a tribe was born. And they still need to be painted, differently however than those on the Screenshots I will show now.

So, what do you think of that idea? should I formulate it out for a proposal?

As to reproduction; why not have equally giant men.. and then make the two indistinguishable! If both sexes look like women to the sarvonians, whom would know? Even with cold resistance, i hardly imagine them prancing through the snow in the buff..

Although, writing that, it occurs to me there might be quite a number of individuals that have no problem imagining lots of giant women prancing through the snow like that.. *sigh* Why no Alt, why would you think i am looking at you now?

A half-giant race! One wonders how a giant could mate with a smaller human, though... shocked

I would favor making one of the current undeveloped Ice Tribes as a race of larger humans. The assumption could be among scholars that they are indeed descendants from some sort of ice giant or ice trolls. If you were to ask one of them if they have troll or giant parentage, you'd likely die a nasty death! lol

There could be myths where long ago, the iceland races were larger and over time they evolved into smaller beings that we know today. Except, the ice amazons (for lack of a better term) never "de-evolved" but remained large. They could be perhaps 7 to 8 feet tall (sorry, no translation for metric) and weigh 250 to 400 pounds (again, no metric here). Give them bluish skin and a small territory to thrive in.

As for dragon riding, I can perhaps see that they learned to tame and ride frost drakes or ice dragons. Maybe bred them for food and clothing. But, dragons are so rare except in the farthest northern areas, I can't see that as much of a possibility. Or not. I would love to have more dragons in the North. I know my area has a thriving ice dragon/drake community.

I like the idea that outsiders cannot distinguish the genders. Women don't need to follow the same "body" pattern allover the world. . They could be all kind of androgynous, same body shape, same hairdress..

The whole society could be different. Babies are weaned with four weeks and then the old people care for them.. No tight family ties, more friendships???

More ideas?

Why do they even have to have genders? Why not give them some kind of asexual reproduction? Make them all the one gender!

Alternatively, (and I know some of you dislike me talking about Star Trek here, but tough) evil

why not do what they had in an Enterprise episode and have three genders ... in the episode in question, the male of the species did his business with the cogenitor (that was actually the name used to describe that gender) who then did its business with the female of the species. Its been a while since I saw the episode in question ... so I can't recall the precise details of it, but it went something like that, anyway.

Sorry, anyway, yeah, I wasn't actually here, I'm on my way over to Nybelmar, of course. *whistles innocently* evil

, I think that is a cool idea, to have a trisexual society.. where the birth sex must get fertilized by each of the other two progenitor sexes. If not for the giuants, then perhaps for a fire creature I am mulling about for the Isthmus of Doom (protectors of the Doom Steel element)

Well, I have thought at that as well, I have read my Winterplanet (Ursula LeGuin--> gender change!) and Asimov's Lunatico (three genders) , but that would be a NEW RACE, which are banned .
