Tum'um, squirrel-kitten-fuzzy-thingies from HELL erh, i mean Nybelmar.

   Overview
The Tum'um cats of the Moredein Kaerath in northwestern Nybelmar are a remarkably small member of the cat family, favoured locally as pets for their tendency to hunt various pests. They are seldomly seen elsewhere, although some can be found as housepets to Tarshiïnite nobles, or rather, their wives.

   Appearance
When first confronted with these peculiar little cats, many will mistake them for a young member of another domestic cat race, such as the common Faenic Granite, or the slender Tarshiïn Goldskyne. This common but easilly understandable mistake stems from their positively minuscule size; a Tum'um rarely grows over two-and-a-half palmspan long, excluding a tail of similar length, and average out at a mere twelve nailsbreadth height at the shoulders.


   Special Abilities
Unless one counts the remarkabe appeal these cats have on many people, the Tum'um have little in the way of special gifts. They are of course, as all cats, gifted acrobats that jump around their home trees with ease, and their sharp, curved claws allow them to easilly scale most trunks, an ability that extends to climbind down head-first, if the situation calls for it, although it appears this is a technique the Tum'um dislikes using; Often, they can be seen taking a longer, more tedious way down a tree rather than crawling down its trunk.

   Territory
Wild Tum'um cats are found exclusively on the rolling hills and plains of Kaerath, in northwestern Nybelmar. Well suited to inhabit the monumental Thorncoud trees as they are, their adoption into human homes is often the sole reason they can be encountered in other places. Save for a few select specimen, the Tum'um cats' spread is restricted to within the Faenic trading empire.

   Habitat/Behavior

   Diet
Tum'ums are, despite, or perhaps due to their size, voracious hunters of nearly everything that they can find, provided it is smaller than them. Their menu consists of small birds, insects and their larvae, spiders, mice and other mammals, eggs, and other such fare, although they will not hesitate to try and rob honey from the hives of thornback myrmex, or insufficiently locked-up food from human cupboards.
