I wrote myself a birthday present today!  grin

Again, the file was too large to be attached so I emailed it over our webmaster. Artimidor will insert the Sibelius file here.

I think I shall also write a trio, something cheerful, to go with this. Hmm.. yeah. The more I think about it, the more I feel this should be a minuet-trio (ie minuet--trio--minuet).

I hope you like it. :)

@Kalina: Haha - yes! Sibelius seems to be a lot more user-friendly than Finale. I usually compose either by whistling or at the keyboard - and then use a music notation software like Finale/Sibelius to write it down. For me, with Finale it was taking longer to transcribe a piece than to compose it. That said, they each have their own advantages. It really comes down to personal preference, I guess. :)

Quite true. I have never used Finale. I had gotten Sibelius as a Christmas present one year, but the computer we had on it died and it wouldn't let me reload it onto the new one. :(

Wow - thank you so much for the kind comments!

I've gone through the piece again and reworked a few elements:

1) Cadences edited.

2) Simplified m21-22. It seemed a little too ornate and interrupted the flow.

3) Reworked the harmony, bridges etc a bit. See especially: m13-24.

4) Tempo increased from Quarter = 60 to Quarter = 68

I'm treating this as a learning exercise, so all suggestions/comments/critique are most welcome! (I attach a pdf version of the score in case anybody wishes to see the notes as they listen.)

I emailed the file to Artimidor so he will probably insert it into this post when he gets home. Thanks again Art!
