Faugar has some new pics to share with us, which I've already added to his Resources thread and put up here now as well for checking out and reserving if you have an idea where to put them! And here they are - thanks to Faugar for contributing them :D  thumbup

If you have an idea what to do with any of these, please post here!

#37  Looks like Giant Terror Bats to me.  Could be second pic for that entry.

#40  Giant Gorba- I think this would fit pretty well.  Maybe not exactly but pretty well.

#43  Entrance to the Holy Caves for Doimo Nomads.  Found in Doimo Nomad entry.

I have no concrete idea on where to place any of these - but that's one eye-boggling collection! Thank you, Faugar, and be assured of my admiration.

Dibs on 38!  That is one impressive bit of mood lighting there - a bit out of Faugar's usual misty style, but so effective.   I'll be thinking exactly what to use it for this week - while a story is tempting, dwarven history does need some serious filling in.

Aura +1 for Faugar of course - though it would help if he posts in this thread, so that I don't actually have to search for a post of his where I can attach it... lol I've briefly spotted the master himself on the Forum, but alas he has disappeared again!

Anyway, quite a few of very interesting suggestions there: The Gorba seems really perfect for #40, especially because we don't have a color picture yet in the entry and the shape of the feet make it a somewhat different creature anyway. Maybe we can alter the description of the Gorba then a bit to make it fit perfectly, but in general I'm very happy with that picture. The Doimo cave is also a great suggestion! Would also add more attention to a not so often mentioned tribe :) There seems to be a larger story behind #37 still as these guys apparently find themselves within a carcass of a giant dragon, but could for a start in the Giant Terror Bats entry...

I also find #39 very interesting - looks like a great story/myth/fairy tale to frighten little kids not to go out at night when strange giants roam the lands or something... Maybe I write something in this direction at some point, unless there are other takers. Also like #42... In the original Santharian concept of ages past there was an idea of a tribe, say hobbits or something, where the members are convinced that they can get to the other side of the world by digging through - and all that implies for the one or the other reason. That could be the great dig site...  cool #46 is also super cool... If only I had an idea where to put him...

But all in all: A wonderful collection we've got there!  thumbup

Hello Santharians!
Glad to hear some of these can be used :) Also, if you have any requests for new pictures or slight alterations to the ones posted here, do not hesitate to ask. If changing one detail would make them fit the entry, I'm willing to do that. I'll try to look (and read) around a bit to see what inspires me and maybe illustrate some entries.

Best,
Faugar

I would like to inquire whether I may use #44 for the Witches entry...

I also like 39...it could be used as Art has suggested, or, in a more metaphysical spirit, as a representation of a mental disease, such as depression or melancholy.  I'm sure we had some talented compendiumists working on these concepts before, and such an illustration would add drama to an abstract concept.

Also, if Faugar wouldn't mind editing the leg of the giant out in 39, we could use a second crop for a landscape/village illustration, which we are sorely short of.   It's a lovely little town-at-night picture, with a bit of clone brush over the monster's foot!  :)

Sans giant, I'd be happy to snatch up #39 for Stoneshallow. The mountains seem sharp enough for the foot hills of the Hylph'ian'xan'krois

Very nice and pretty fast fix, Faugar! Thanks for that :)

Ok, so Valan already considers it for Stoneshallow... Planning an own entry on that one or do you think it fits to a current one already? And we can still consider the giant for something else.  cool

#44 for the Witches entry sounds also fine with me. Ideally provide the text to accompany it!

Oh and @Alt: Faugar just made an alteration of a picture, so effectively we have 11 now. Just looked a bit ahead in the future...  grin

Auries Faugar again for such thoughtful and speedy responsiveness:
wishes she had more auras on hand for the amazing artistic talent,
but will have to wait for tomorrow....

I was thinking the same thing about the Skylings.  :)

No, I would not want to live in a world without dragons, as I would not want to live in a world without magic, for that is a world without mystery, and that is a world without faith. And that, I fear, for any reasoning, conscious being, would be the cruelest trick of all.
