Well I have drawn this picture for my inlaws for Christmas  (shhh don't tell, they haven't seen it yet).  This is a picture of their cabin the mountains in Utah. I was wondering if there might be an application for this picture in Santharia as well.  I think the cabin might be too modern looking, but I could easily crop it out and leave the dark woods by itself.

Any ideas.

Very nice picture once again, Seeker!

One small thing I'd like to point out is that (on my screen at least) it looks like the cabin's on fire... I'm sure that's not what you intended though ;)

Yeah... Picture looks great, but the windows really have a tad too much colour in them, so that it really looks a bit like it's burning. I guess the intention there was to make the inside look warm and cosy, but you might consider tuning it down a little bit. ;) Other than that it looks very atmospheric!

Now the building might be too modern for Santharia, but the woods surely should be of use somewhere. Suggestions welcome!

Great picture, Seeker. What did your inlaws say? I hope their real cabin still stands!

As for Santharian use: I'd say it's a Northern forest, and propose the Mantle Woods up on the Iol Peninsula. The Mantle Woods don't have an entry yet, but if I may venture a further suggestion:

Could you add a vubuaz nest to one of the trees? The vubuaz live in the Mantle Woods (among other Northern forests)  - so the picture could illustrate the vubuaz entry for now, as well as be there in case anyone ever writes the entry on the Mantle Woods?

Just an idea.

Though I am always, always, eager to have Seeker illustrate my corner of the world, the design of the house is far too modern for anything the Antislar or Remusians would ever have.  They are of the stone or waddle and daub folk.

Just because there is snow doesn't necessarily mean it has to be north of the Tandalas.  What about the Voldar area of the Thaelon?  It has a Winter season so it's not out of place.

I agree about Voldar, Altario - that could be suitable place, too. But I think it was consensus that the cabin would be taken out of the picture, as Seeker has offered to do, since it looks too modern for any  corner of Caelereth.

Yeah, the cabin is definitely too modern for Santharian/Caelerethian standards I fear... The Wood would fit nicely nevertheless.

Though from the flood of likes I saw on Facebook the cabin was definitely a smash hit for the purpose it was drawn for... Looks like the whole of Seeker's family, relatives, friends and their cats and dogs really enjoyed the idea and realization! :)  thumbup

Just, have not those of the mantle woods a darker color?

Excellent hives there, Seeker, and aura +1!  cool Hope it wasn't too difficult to pull that one off, even though we don't see any actual Vubuaz on the pic, but at any rate a good idea by Shabakuk and lovely realization. Every picture is welcome! Very glad that we could use this trees picture already very effectively that way :)
