And if Seeker's dream pictures aren't enough for today - here we go with mambo number 5... er... external artist number 5. Max will be just Max in Santharia, simple and cool. Max is interestingly the next German in or list of new artists (no idea what's with all those Germans all of a sudden) - and he's a professional, as you'll undoubtedly see when looking at his pictures. But he's a friendly guy with a weak spot for non-commercial projects, including Santharia. All works on his Deviant Gallery are personal works however, and thus readily available... So, ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, see the works of Max Hugo. =)

These are all gorgeously breathtaking! I'm loving all of these new external artists. All of their work is so inspiring and ideas immediately hit me each time I look at one of their galleries even if I can't properly use the picture with my ideas. I really like Swamp-Grat Rider. It looks very reminiscent of a Rat Brownie warrior. I'll have to file this one away in case I ever work with Rat Brownies or see a nice place this might fit.

I also wonder if Wayfarers might be able to be used as a Brownie pic somewhere, such as for the sea-faring Brownies that Coren and Rookie have vaguely mentioned over here (the massive teal text at the bottom of Rookie's post). The coloring of the would-be Brownies doesn't really match the current physiology laid out for the Race, but I'm sure a reason or alteration can be invented if cleverly done, like with Rookie's Darklings. I'd be very reluctant to ask about a recoloring at all. There appears to be a certain inhuman quality about them though, with the odd facial structures and limbs being unusually proportioned. I do think that perhaps the one on the left could possibly be seen as a very light brownbark, and the shorter one might be able to pass as a birchbark?

As they are in Nybelmar, I think the goggles can be morphed into a primitive eye protection from the water, Brownies being the wonderful little geniuses that they are. They could be construed as standing on a branch with the rising moon as their backdrop (although I worry that the planet in the image is too large to be considered a moon :/). That looks like it could be sunset.

Lol Eldor, I thought as well, that that rat-rider could be a rat brownie, just did not make up my mind, if he rock and trees would fit, but I think with a bit of imagination, it might work.

Some of these beasts might straight go into the netherbeast entry or perhaps the netherworld. Several would need an entry, a myth, maybe Osthemangar might be a place also. Azhira should have a look!

I love that Pirate Queen. If one would add a few lines history to the Scattersand Shoals about recent (or not so recent ) activities one could add her picture there, and write a PE later. Hmm, just thinking about integrating her in the GOK, but I'm not sure, if that works.

The buildings look much like Nybelmar again, unfortunately Coren is not here.

Siren, a swamphag?

Temple--> Kanapan peninsula and/or bull??

Temple 2 could be one of Santhran Sanaerrins (architecture king) buildings, not necessarily a temple and not in Santhala itself, but somewhere nearby in the Rimmerins Ring. (The great Shingar e.g. )

I agree with the Kanapan idea.  First time I looked at that pic, that's what came to mind.

"Temple of the horned ones" works very well as a Kanapan temple I'd say, so I'll add that picture in the Kanapan men entry this update.

I also support the idea to place "Temple 2" somewhere in Santharia and attribute it to an architecture king. That way we have something to go with a key Santhran and we get another landmark building somewhere in the heart of Santharia - and we can't have enough of such prominent landscape of buildings in order to build the central kingdom of our world as believable as possible.

I'm not quite sure about the Swamp-Grat Rider as a Brownie, because the surrounding trees don't look like Brownie environment. Seeker already drew a rider in the Rat Brownie entry BTW. Swamp-Grat Rider might better work as a giant rat species, maybe ridden by a goblin?

Wayfarers: Hmm... The longer one could be sort of a rare occurrence in Brownie-kind, so maybe he's a bit of an outcast, and that's why he set out to explore the world... or something :)

The Journey is PERFECT for Dearanic architecture!

I'll have a look through the gallery later this weekend. So excited!

Coren, you got it!  Fits perfectly! thumbup

The deepgorge mine could use another picture, the entry itself needs a rewrite though, maybe in the direction of a myth only, if we don't want to have a new race established.

I wonder whether it could also be Harash? Quote from "Witchcraft: How to spin a spell":

Quote
Witches, for their part, have a different explanation again. The world exists, they say, because  Harash spins it. Harash – that is the Great Spider, the Spinner of the World Web. *Footnote 1* It is a being both male and female, beautiful and ugly, wise as a whale and dumb as a pebble. The witches believe that all the world we see, hear, smell and feel is made of threads woven by Harash. The witches call these threads “dream threads”, because in our everyday lives, we are unable to see these threads themselves, but instead only illusions, “dreams” conjured up by them.

Well, this one is definitive female. ;)

I never imagined Harash as humanoid in any way.

I've already integrated the pic as a Móh'sýs by now and I'd say it fits nicely, so let's keep it that way :)

This pic would make a fantastic orc camp around the Mount Osthen area of Caaehl'heroth.

This would make a terrifying image of Ezorakk'lagdan, Scourge of the North, although the horse and rider wouldn't fit as well. The misty background is perfect though.

And netherbeasts definitely.

No, I would not want to live in a world without dragons, as I would not want to live in a world without magic, for that is a world without mystery, and that is a world without faith. And that, I fear, for any reasoning, conscious being, would be the cruelest trick of all.

The orc camp should be possible to grab right away and fit in somewhere... If you have an idea to which specific entry we should add it and a caption, let me know, Azhira! :)

As for the second one: How about finishing up that entry? This would surely be a great picture to  go with it!

Netherbeasts: Too bad they were not placed on a proper background yet. Well, maybe I could ask Max to put them in front of something generic, I'm sure he must have a couple of such images.
