Odomon Sword Pic

It is not very often one comes across a true Odomon Sword. Even rarer to find one wrapped in the hide of a Berg Pony. I simply had to capture this on canvas. The owner asked me to not reveal his name. A number of would-be thieves have already tried to take it. undecided

Er, ahem.. yes. I love, love, LOVE the scabbard. Berg Pony hide... awesome.

I really like the sword, the wavy pattern, the elegant blade... but, there is something about the handle, though very pretty as well, that makes this hand and a half striking weapon look more like a rapier, which is a one handed weapon.

Was scouring the web for a pic of what it should look like, but could not find a pic of a two handed guarded pommel. But, in looking, I noticed what I think is the problem with the handle. Most two handed pommels are at least as thick as the blade at the hilt, and many of them are a quarter to a third the length of the blade.

So, I think what I see as the problem is that the handle is too dainty for the sword, and makes it look smaller than it is. Can we (you

)lengthen the pommel and thicken it a bit? This will increase the look of the whole sword, I think, and make it look like the killing weapon of the true Remusian Warrior, and not the weapon of a more southern Santharian city gentleman.

Seeker, I apologize if this sounds demanding. You know I hate to nit pick the work of others far more talented than I. Your work is always a pleasure to behold and I'm always flattered when you place one in my end of the world.

That will take less time to fix than the time it is taking me to write this. So no problem at all. I will wait to see if there are any more comments before presenting the new version.

Great picture and aura +1, Seeker, also for your recent load of pics for the Shoals finale! Come to think of it: I've seen that one in the Shoals as well, haven't I?

Anyway, really nice one...

Note: If you alter the picture, please make sure to send me the new PSD version. Also, now that we're at it: You've made a picture back then with blunt weapons (see here). As I'm at my parents I don't have the PSD source of this one here, but could use it now as well.

How's this Altario? It is longer and thicker at the handle, pommel, and guard. Is it enough? Or did you really just want the pommel part of the handle thickened and lengthened. The change took me less than 10 minutes so don't worry if you want it altered further.

BTW- keep in mind this is a hand-and-half weapon not a two-handed weapon.

Hand and a half still allows for two handed use, and it still does not look like a second hand could fit. It looks to me like if I put my hand in there, that the bump in the middle would be right in the middle of my palm, instead of dividing the handle into two parts, one hand above and a smaller area for the other hand below.

So, what I had intended was a lengthening of the grip so that it appeared like two hands could fit. Making it larger did not accomplish this (my fault). Could we stretch the grip a bit so that it appears two hands could fit? Perhaps more on the top half, which is where a single grip would occur?

Well, I'm looking at the texture of the leather on the grip. It looks a bit too much like bovine leather, and not enough like equine. I think that could prove a problem, as this is supposed to be from a Berg Pony, after all. Maybe if we softened the grain and had it going at a more oblique angle to the grip....

Just kidding !! It looks great now, Seeker. I had thought my whining had chased you off. An Aura for putting up with me.
