Hey guys I ran into Surian the other day at the DFAC (on base dining facility) and he wanted me to let you know that he is sorry that he hasn't been around lately.  It is due to the fact that he got what is called an article 15.  He had to move back onto base and is on extra duty for 45 days, and restriction for 60 days.  That means he won't be on the computer for 60 days, well 47 now or something like that.  Anyway he just wanted to have me let you know and to say he was still interested.

Did he do something he shouldn't have done or is this part of his job?

He was having problems with his Korean teacher, and he respectfully disareed with the teacher.  The teacher ended up taking offense at his disagreement and hit  him.  He cursed and went to tell his commander about the situation.  The teacher got several witnesses who said that they heard him be disrespectfull and cussed at the teacher.  In short the commander didn't believe my friend and gave him this punishment for disrespecting a senior NCO (Non Commissioned Officer).  He got a raw deal which sucks, but it isn't that surprising.

Seems like you really get it rough in the military... When I heard of such stuff I always thought it was only made up, I couldn't believe they're so unfair.

Well, it isn't the most common of things, however it is unfortunately common enough for it not to be strange.  Well, at least the good points outweigh the bad.  I know that he and I are both going to get out after our 6 years of service are up.  Only 5 years, 4 months, and 8 days left :lol

Are you allowed to say which nation's army you serve?

Why yes I can.  The USA.  Just keep in mind that this is the bad aspect that was discussed.  While I do find some things bothersome about being in the Army that can be said of any job.  Also I have already learned much from my short time in.  There are many great things that will come of my being in the military, top secret clearance, college degree, learning Russian and Serbo-Croation, etc. etc.

We have a high ranking Nato commander (from US) next door, and several other people working for NATO in the building...

Damn! He's back again... Hmm... there HAS to be closet somewhere... don't they always have this in films? Then why can't i find it... ooops, too late...

Good afternoon, sir. Was just passing by. Would probably be better if I left now, but thanks for inviting me to dinner. You didn't? Well, anyway, take care.

::runs off as if a 3 m demon was chasing him::

anyway, guess the answer to all questions in the military is: "Yes, sir!"
