Oops, orcs at Aeruillin?
There are no orcs in Aeruillin, they just didn't make it so far - as there are no in southern Santharia.Their homelands are the Tandalas and farer north, they came down to Santharia for raids and during wartimes, but Aeruillin, no. I think about that was agreed already long ago, even before I joined...
As Artemis said in her elven-ban thread, Aeruillin was planned to be basically inhabited by humans.

btw: Orcal is a term only associated to the Orcristh kingdom in Nybelmar with the same name. The general term is probably orcish.

So, is there a possibility I could have some in Aeruillin? I want only one tribe (possibly two).

Of course it would need to be all worked out as to where they came form... perhaps not all Orcs travelled north, a small group travelled south, unbeknownst to others? Or something? I have many ideas..., but I am not really an orc expert...

Well, I don't know what others think...

I mainly tried to avoid too much development at other continents so that we could focus on Sarvonia back then. Therefore the races ban. Well, the whole problem started when it seemed that stable Nybelmar and Aeruillin teams were forming, but with Amuwen's joining the navy it was obvious that we wouldn't hear much of her. Tiaa also isn't regularly here. And now we're exactly there at the problem: At new continents it would be interesting to have something special here and there, especially so close to the Void (see our cosmological discussions involving the Void). So theoretically a new race for example would sound interesting, and I personally am not opposed in advance against having orcs in Aeruillin. I wouldn't make masses of tribes in Aeruillin, though, at least we're having an enormous desert here, which shouldn't be overly populated.

Would like to hear other opinions here as well.

Well, I guess I shouldn't get too excited, but I don't think it would actually be realistic to have a huge majority of Aeruillin populated by humans - the majority yes, but I would like other races. We have elves, we will probably have three tribes of them if my plans fan out, I want two dwarven tribes (provisionally planned) along with the single orcish(al) tribe. However, this orc tribe could be replaced by a few tribes of a new race - perhaps indigenous desert dwelling race, who were native to Aeruillin, who were ill equiped when humans came upon them, lacking the knowledge of combat... that's just an idea, or perhaps it could be a group of people who were originally humans and warped so much be the Void they became a new race... I don't know, I have many ideas...

Well, we still need to discuss this first... I guess you planned to do another weapon/armour, Sanjiyan, so maybe work on this one first so that we can come to a decision here in the meantime.

Yeah, I think a new race is something more people want to participate - and that it should be done by an experienced writer, because it is the most complicated thing for an entry. It has to be very different from what we have, but nonetheless fitting to the environement and what we have already. Things like how much this race can be known at all by humans/elves, how similar it should be to the four main races we have so far - or something very different?
And it is nothing which has to be done immediately.

Some twisted humans (trough the void) is another interesting idea as well, maybe both?

Yeah, a new race is something for an experienced developer here in Santharia, and Artemis definitely already brings this experience if she'd like to go for it, I'd say. She even made the fae concept workable in Santharian context, of which there were reservations initially  - Of course we should think first if an idea would fit before final permission is given to work on such a race in detail, because it should fit to the rest of the world somehow, not being too weird, unrealistic and such. But in general I think a new race for Aeruillin would be ok.

BTW: As already stated, Artemis, we're currently discussing cosmological things at the Southern Sarvonina Forum, and this includes for example the Void and its effect on people living there. Actually these things may be discussed in even closer detail next week or so. So make sure to read about these things as well and perhaps you have the opportunity to log on to IRC during the evening hours to participate in IRC discussions (or post ideas at the Sarvonian Forum). The Void may greatly affect your people down there, so it is important on how we deal with these issues.
