I am currently writing my first draft of the Scarlet Drake and would like to know the answers to some of these questions:

How powerful can the owner be?

What could be plausiable if I was talking about political corruption and illegal arms supplying?

Would I be able to have two armed guards at the door of a secret store?

If so could I have them under the authority of general/commander ???? after he was blackmailed into giving them whatever they want?

Is there anything special you need me to include that the Scarlet Drake wouldn't be without?

That family is very wealthy, and thus has considerable influence over Zhunite politics. But what exactly do you mean? Maybe I should comment on what is possible and what is not when you post your draft?

In terms of political corruption nothing much other than the Black Hand (see Karakan entry), a group of Krean diplomats secretly plotting to stab the Empire in the back when the time comes. But that is towards the Year of Darkness (1649 bS), well into the 30 year Orcal Wars. I wouldn't recommend getting too much into the actual politics as I am not sure myself what might have happened. We are still not that far into the timeline.

By all means go for the illegal arms supplying. After the Temple of Seras (so much for the honesty of priests!) the Scarlet Drake is the 2nd largest smuggler in all Zhun. Maybe we could add something about them also selling to Anpagan merchants (again towards the Year of Darkness), we'll check with Smith once the entry is written. Anyway, all the information I have can be found in the Karakan entry.

You could have as many as you wish, but then that wouldn't be so 'secret', would it? ;)

Once again, it might be best to leave politics out of the first draft. We will add these later. One problem you should keep in mind when writing about people or political situations in a places entry is when the entry was actually written. Does the situation you describe still hold for the place? Does the entry itself depict the current state of the place (in the descriptions etc) or does it describe the place as it was at a particular era? For instance most of my places entries (for now) describe the places as they were before the Krath Empire collapsed.

To answer your question, maybe you could have a story about this general and include it in the history, yes. But when was that? Does he still live?

Do you see why I hesitate to give definitive answers about politics? The timeline is still very fragile, we don't know for sure how events will turn out yet.

Other than what I have mentioned here, I can't think of anything at the moment. You can trust me to come up with something when I take the red-marker in hand though! :p

Hope this helps! If anything else comes up, feel free to ask :)
