How about putting a large number of mustilids in your forest.

You could have them range in size from ones that would fit in your hand to larger ones that would be bigger then a horse.
They could fill a large number of ecological niches too.

Ah, mustelids. I've always thought it'd be interesting to have one as the 'superpredator' of some place, after learning of the
dobhar-chu
(which some believe to be a giant otter of some sort).

I actually have a otter-based creature in my scetchbook, although i seem to have forgotten to transfer it to my dev scedule.. expect a scedule update somewhere around september 1st

If you would like to put some variety of Gopag in this forest you are more then welcome.

Since this is in northern Nybelmar an aquatic form would fit in well here the only modification that would be need to be made to that entry would be the insertion of a paragraph about the variety of gopag that lives there.
Of course that would also meen you need fish in the area for them to eat.

Fish are somewhere on my to-do list, but already many entries state that the Drifting Woods are one of the richest fishing grunds around Nybelmar. I'dloveto get a Gopag in my woods, but the actual design will wait untill i have written the place entry for my Masterwork.

I assume you are one of those long lost legendary Nybelmar experts...well not lost, but the rest still applies
I'm one of the Nybelmar-orientated people, I wouldn't call myself an expert (which I am definetely not anyway), but more of 'a prospective memeber who has much more knowledge on the continent then most of my experience level'...Well it sounds better then 'Newb' anyway
You'll see me rummaging around in the Jungles on the Shar peninsula, if you need me (which you probably won't)...

Nothing as far as the actual project is concerned, i will just keep on pumping out new flora and fauna for Nybelmar at a steady pace.
I am planning to do some more work on the overview/dev notes on Nybelmer (and their tribes, as 'Nybelmer' has grown into a sub-race, instead of a single group of mer.) as soon as i move, and re-establish a permanent internet connection, as they seem to have become more important to the region, as wel as catching the eye of several other people. Once this happens i'll be having a few more dev sessions on some kind of IM to ensure i'm going in the right direction as well as keep the options your plans need open.
(mmh.. lots of words to simply say "Not yet, but later i will..".. )
