I recognized that sometimes players from the RPG-games need details about certain regions/tribes/races. What they'd do, if they would behave like this/that.

I really appreciate this and hope if anything is unclear or cannot be found you'd just come and ask! That would make diving into Santharia easier, I think.
My suggestion would be to eventually set up a "Reference Forum" here or at the RPG-board (or a link at the RPG-board leading to the according forum here at world development)where any RPG-player can ask for references concerning certain topics.
This would help us very much to deal with the concerns and problems of the players.

Good/Bad/Neccessary? Just an idea that sprang to my mind.

As in something on the web site in HTML format or something on the forums? Don't mean to sound like a fool but some times it can't be helped ;)

I'm always eager to help people to sound like a fool by making confusing statements. :)

I think an additional forum here or at the RPG-board.

Hey, that's what I do! I monitor the stories, and provide references when needed. Would be nice for someone/thing else to take the job of my hands.

In the beginning, there was nothing. That gets kind of boring. And so we'll hit fast forward.

Having such a forum would make it possible for us (the world creators) and the the players to ask questions at one place so we (I generally only try to give advice concerning char history because there are too many stories) can answer them easily and don't have to roam all the story threads every day... it might encourage the RPG-players to play even more according to the world they're in when they have the possibility to askl for details of locations, tribes,... .

In the end it might force us to make more entries as we don't want to have no answers ready when somebody asks certain questions! Damn! ;)

I personally think its a great idea.  Being kind of new to Santharia, I'm bound to have a lot of questions, so I think that this is a wonderful idea.

Since you mentioned asking questions about different tribes, what is the closest barbarian tribe to the city of Nyermersys?

To silentsyco: Barbarians in general live north of the Tandala Mountains. I don't think you'll find many barbarian tribes in Southern Sarvonia, it's kinda civilised as opposite of the land north of the mountains. You could take a look at the map section for more details or ask Koldar, I think he knows more about the city.

Before I forget, Koldar I think it's excellent. IMHO the best solution would be a link from the RPG forum to a forum here at Main Dev. That way the world developers won't have to check another forum, as not all of them RP.

Yes, I think that would be the best way to do it! :)

To Silentsyco: The province of Nerman has been pacified after the third Sarvonian war and there are no enemy barbarian tribes south of the Tandala mountains. The order of the Fallen is guarding the passes to prevent any intruders but I would think that from time to time raiding parties would sneak into the country to steal, burn and plunder.

If you need settlements you'll have to look north of the Tandals at the Castle of Darkness(I think that's its name west of the Hovel Frond).
If you want to be an unlucky travel party that runs into a group of battletrained warriors. That can happen anywhere north of the Teiphra (north of Nyermersys) and the Calmarios(Forest controlled by Elves).

I thought already about drawing a outline/scetch of the thirsty Herald and its surrounding, where exactly the stables are situated and so on. Maybe the players know then where to go and which door to use. Gean??

If you'd like please do so... I have those sketches here at home, but they're not good and it was just for reference for me. I could make you a rough sketch and then you can create a more detailed map of the place?
