Artimidor, do you have in mind a word for wind.  I have checked the site and find that wind is not explained yet but it is an elvish idea of their gods.  I thought you may have a word for this as it would be an important word to the elves and probably well defined gramatically.  That is why I ask you, cause I could not come up with such a word as I do not fully comprehend Styrash (spelled badly).

If you do could you tell me what the word might be.  Thanks in advance. :o    ;)

Oh, I've defined the elements' words already, but somehow they haven't made it to the dictionary.

The elements are

só avásh = wind (has the "Avá"-part in it)
só mód = earth
sá már = water
só efér = fire

Note the contradictions of the elements being reflected in the genders.

There exists a complete german Chapter II BTW of the Carpá'dosía where all those elements, their relations etc. are described in detail. Well, so you couldn't have known these words...

Great, now the problem is how would a person go about using it in a spell?  Would they be..:

ásh - wind
mód - earth
már - water
fér - fire

Something like Phó Car Ásh (create beginning wind)??

Yeah, I would say so, Thuja. Want to make a spell or two? Would be great to have more:)

But in this case the spell would be called: Ash Phó Cár (element first). See Magic Forum post about "Magical Formulas" (will also be up this update).

Hey, and you're trying to translate something, Wren? It sure is though, when I think on how I write, trying to resemble some 19th century writers or with mythical pathos... *brrr* The Mène'tékan story about the "Beginning of the Sarvonian Dawn" would be a good thing to have translated (I'd have 3-4 pics to illustrate it). But I don't really envy any translator...

*thinks she has done a fairly good job*

I only have a complete first draft on the Forward to the Avaestoria, mainly cos I wanted to know what was there for my background stuff. There are some strange German turns of prhase that I do not recognise,  and it's been nearly three years since I last had to use my German, so I don't know how close it is to what you intended, but I think I have the basic sense of it....My friend does a PhD and has offered to look it over so the final draft should be fairly good. But will take a little time.

But what does 'alsogleich' mean??? I've never seen it before, and can't find it in any German dictionary.

Oh, "alsogleich" is a very, very old word, meaning "at once" I'd say. I will check the text when you're done, so just mark unclear passages perhaps. Preface may be very boring for pure fantasy readers (so I guess it wouldn't be included in a publication), but it was written by a boring sage/philosopher, you know...
