Umm okay, this is my first attempt at a photoshop pic, so please give me any suggestions to help it look better.  Also, in my photoshop program the shading on the cliff was much smoother, don't know why it's blocky here? Oh well.

Anyway, bigger windows?  Let me know what you all think

Where is the top?  You know with the glass all around and a candle with a giant mirror behind it revolving on a pedastal.

Actually it is much better than anything I could come up with Drogo.

yep, definitely bigger windows. you should draw the sky/clouds as well - the render clouds filter isn't always perfect ;)
Not bad for a first attempt though :)

How about some white on the sea? Like foam next to the rocks I mean, and also in the crest of waves. I also vote for bigger windows :)

Hmm, well... I appreciate your try on doing a Photoshop pic, but it's not easy to cope with such masterful artists like Faugar, Enayla or Quellion. You see their long-year experience in every single stroke they draw, which makes the trials of Photoshop-newbies look pretty old, but that's quite natural:)

Thanks for the input guys I really appreciate it.

Art:  I agree with you.  This was all done in a few hours yesterday, mostly trial and error and was my first attempt at such.  I know it is not anywhere near the Quality of Faugar, Quellion, or Enalya, however one must start somewhere.  If you would prefer though.  I will work on the skills for several months before taking up more space with anything.

I watch a show called Screensavers at TechTV. Once in a while they show Photoshop Tips. I have Paint Shop Pro, which I have a ton of bookmarked websites with tips and tricks, and I'm sure Photoshop is no different. Maybe Adobe.com has tutorials? Anyways here is a link to the site, scroll down half way and click on Bert Monroys Photoshop How-To List. Then scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Hope it helps.
BTW: Faugar would have told you earlier, but he is a fraid of competition? ROTFLOL

Actually you should try to do as mutch of the pic as you can yourself.
Using a lot filters and imported texture often "kills" the picture.
And if its to obvious it tends to look very unproffessional.

But by all means use filters and imported stuff.
Just don't let it dominate the picture.

What I do like in your pic is the colours chosen for the sky and the lineart on the door.

I think i see talent.
But then again, what do I know...
