Heres one question, I know that the swiftswords were manufactured with wind magic incorperated into them and that the spell static trap can be used to damage enemys. Is it therefore possible to manufacture a characters weapon with the spell static trap incorperated into it? or any other spell for that matter.   The reason i'm asking is that my character is a mage and therefore would be able to cast the spell, but i was wondering if the weapon had to be forged with the power or if it could simply be charged into it?  Thanks!!!

I guess knowing the spell alone won't help to get a sword enchanted (especially a "Static Trap" spell doesn't actually seem to fit for an enchanted sword).  A sword can't simply be charged, you need to have special powers for that (assume we'll put that in a high level spell), that's for sure, and also a talented smith I'd say (dwarven smiths are always best, so I assume they'd do well here).

Weapons can be enchanted by normal spells doing enchanments.. Static trap can be put on a sowrd, but it will only serve as makignt he sword a little... hard to touch for people.

However, a permanent enchanment must be applied during making of said weapon... otherwise, it will be a one-time thing.

The entry on Jamliso mentions using binding magic.  Does this mean that to for longer(or permanent) enchantments, you cast a spell on the item then use another spell to bind the enchantment to the item?

Yes, I assume that's the case. An enchantment wears off after some time, so only a "binding" can make it permanent. Of course it also all depends on the material of the blade for example (how long the modified cár'áll can be stored etc.)

The main reason i asked was because my char was reasonable in combat but i wanted to give her an edge so she could stun her opponant (Static Trap) or confuse them (confuse) or similar basicly to give her time to get away or to make the attacker think twice.   How would you go about Binding a spell to a weopon i believe i remmember seeing somewhere what you had to do to one spell and you had to dip the weopon into a certain mixture and cast the enchantment on it several times to get it to work and then the spell wore out slowly over time.   using a differant method would the spell wear off or would it be as strong several months after casting?

What you're talking about is Bluestride's Stored Momentum, I think.  It's basically a temporary enchantment that enables your weapon to hit really hard once, and not a method of binding a spell to an object.  I don't think any of the spells listed on the site are suitable for your purposes.  The closest is probably Blazing Shield, but then you won't be able to touch your weapon without hurting yourself.  Perhaps you could make up your own spell?

By the way, another question: Does the Bluestride's Stored Momentum spell fade away with time if it is not activated?
Or can a weapon imbued with it last for an indeterminate time without the spell fading, and will only be destroyed once the spell is used?

Quote:
Duration. You need to discern between Enchantment and Effect Duration:

Enchantment Duration - The enchantment will last for a full month until it needs to be renewed.

Effect Duration - One strike. After that, the object returns to its previous, not-quite-as-lethal self.

Not really long, it seems.  But I'm not sure how many times it can be renewed.

the reason is so i can enchant the body of my staff but not the handles(differatn material).:broadgrin

Only two things are infinite, the uneverse and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
