This thread is intended to collect all beasts (descriptions and pics) we currently have and will be used in the game. I start with rat and spider(s), as they will be part of one of the first quests in the Prosperous Farmhouse:

The Rat
Arguably the most intelligent and versitile creature in Caelereth, Rats are very agile, medium to large sized rodents with short legs and relatively large heads. Rats usually have dull-colored, coarse fur; long tails; large ears; and a pointed snout. This snout houses a set of very sharp and powerful teeth, which allows them to penetrate nearly any substance behind which they suspect food to be hidden. They have even been known to bite holes in lead pipes.

:D  These images are great and they can be used even when the player examines the creatures or when confronts them. Really great!

Of course there need to be definitons of statistics (hit points, damage these beasts can do etc.)... Don't know how much experience you have already on that, Humangus, from test projects with the LT engine, but if you have rat and spider statistics etc. you can simply apply them for now to these beasts. I assume game balancing will be a much more important issue much later in game development, so for now rough definitions will do, I'd say.

Please check the Bestiary, Artimidor, and see if you like the Jekkin Snail - an oversize acid-slimer which turns rocks into shale...

Hey, Judy, the work you put into this beast is very much appreciated, and don't worry that you overlooked Rayne's version... I'm sure we have a use for the terrifying Jekkin Snail as well, so don't forget to repost;)

I can only add, it is really a different beast, for use in different areas. and definitely more frightening when you stumble accidentically over it.

The Mossbear, entry with pic, pic preferable first!

The mossbear uses the silken moss for his sleeping place, so if on this pic would be a mossbear sampling silken moss, the silken moss would have a pic as well :-)
