Alright. I just finished the Mimi dialogue ( pheeewwww) and number 4 series of quests related to Mimi. From package 15 only the kuatu quest remains but I think I will first finish the Thalanis dialogue as well.

I have some abservations thought :

1 ) Well, since everybody agrees that Mimi is a real brat the fact that the player will make a "negative" dialogue choice is very high. But when this happens Mimi runs off at most of the times and disappears which might not be that good.

2 ) When Mimi runs where does she go? For the moment I simply remove her from the room.

3 ) Do we have a Mimi picture? I surely did not get one. Same for Thalanis.

4 ) I also need a Thalanis description.

5 ) This is a final general observation about the nature of quests. There are many quests of the type "go-fetch". I mean the player has to go get Pinn for Ilbeth, go get Pinn's Ball, get all those sweets for Mimi, get the wizardleef for the wizard and so on. I'd say we must enrich the type of quests a little.

1) Yeah, you're right with the Mimi quitting thing. I already softened the dialogue quite a bit in this direction, so that the player gets another chance to start over with the dialogue. We should always try to make sure that the player gets most dialogue lines etc. out of the program, even if he/she decides to not follow the way he/she is meant to take. So we might e.g. consider that Mimi is not running away, and the player can start asking her again should he decide to treat her more nicely next time. I guess there will be several such game design situations we might have to go through and adjust once the basic plot is done, but yes, we should defnitely avoid these things.

2) Yeah, currently she just disappears. We might place her somewhere else later perhaps. Talia made the dialogue a bit complicated, and I tried to adjust it in various ways to make it easier for integration, but I still see the sweat dripping from your brow... :lol  So at the moment she is simply removed from the room, and we'll have to think on how she will re-appear later, so that still remains a bit open. As mentioned in 1) it would probably be easiest to not let her run away, and perhaps simply place her in the herbwoman's hut, once Chapter 2 starts, and give her some new lines etc. But we'll see.

3) Currently there's only a preview of Mimi available, see here. Still needs to be colored etc., but you can see already the brat in her... :lol

No pic yet for Thalanis. But I hope we'll get one sometime:)

3) Description for Thalanis:

"The short, dirty-blonde man is wearing robes with a few burn holes scattered around his wrists. He's a strange looking guy... his face suggests a thin man, his arms a fat one, and the robes can't tell you anything about his torso. Oh yes, and you can tell why there are burn holes near his wrists. Sparks are dancing around his fingers, which are shaking spasmodically as he speaks. Actually he speaks at the moment - to himself obviously."

4) Hey, we have a "Go kill!" as well already with the rats:P But yes, sure, now that we're setting up the main storyline there will be some more variety contained.

I'll see to provide you with some more rooms next week - I'll try to adjust the ones Judy sent me and make sure that the Thalanis house can be reached:)

Great!

I will remove the lines that cause Mimi to run away for now.

The picture is really nice. I hadn't noticed it before.
